I trust your maintenance is up to date & active?
Please have patience with my naivety, but what "maintenance" is there for SU?

That's why I asked if you would share a sample SKP file that exhibits the issue.
I don't have one less than the 5M limit at the moment.

Bob, if you happened to add that Layer using my Add Layer extension, it may have been set to be not visible for any new Layers added to the model. Any chance of that?
Thank you, Jim, but I just right-clicked on the scene tab

Failing the above, contact the support centre with a screenshot of the error message.
Which support center?
Thank you for your input, but, as I said in the original post:

This is a generic problem (i.e., not for just one model)
so it happens all the time: file and computer independent
Then, with scene 1 tab still selected, turn and move model and right-click Tab 1 and select add scene.
Let's say I'm on tab 4. Now I rotate my model. Now I click on tab 4 and select "add". Now I click on Tab 5, but the layers are not the same as they were on Tab 4.
Repeatable on two different computers using Win10AE.
I don't know if this post belongs here, but I couldn't find any Warehouse specific forum.
When I try to open Extension Warehouse I get:
Something went wrong during the authentication process.
Please contact system administrator. Reference ID: bafcecfc-ba81-43d2-a7ce-d49d8292c99a
I don't know who the "system administrator" is so I'm hoping someone can give me some help.
In a model with a few scenes if I rotate to a different camera angle and then click "add" on the current scene tab, the new scene has the new camera angle but does not have the same layers.
This is a generic problem (i.e., not for just one model)

The Move tool works for that, too. No plugin needed.
Really?
I assume you mean manually because none of the ctrl/alt/shift modifiers will cause Move to automatically move an object to the origin.
Or is this a "duh" that I've missed all these years
Originally DropGC.rb from Smustard (Rick Wilson), but there's a newer registered extension version called smustard_DropGC_9.rbz on the Extension Warehouse.
It works fine on my desktop, but not on my laptop. Since I have the new version on both machines, it must be Bill Gates' fault.
I've made sure I have installed the latest version of Drop CG, but it doesn't work correctly.
All objects are groups and the cylinder started higher above the planes and wound up in the positions shown.
Beautiful!
You should have it 3D printed at about 12" and then bronzed. I'm sure people would buy the result

Nice workflow! Thank you for spending so much time on it.
Since there are many more than three initial color combinations it should turn out an interesting result.
I'd never have thought of using Zorro
Since the pattern has four long pavers and four square pavers with each set sharing one square paver with each of the adjoining sets, I don't see how Skatter could be used.

Thank you very much: I'll give it a try tomorrow
charevir56
That's it!! Fantastic that you were able to find it.
Thank you **very **much.
I have a need to create a randomly textured/colored set of paving stones composed of two shapes (square and rectangular) set in a quasi-repeatable pattern and four textures/colors. The random texturing is what will create the overall net random appearance.
A few months ago I read a post in which someone wanted to create a set of roof tiles with a random texturing of the tiles. The tiles were created and placed on a roof. Then 3 or 4 variations of the texture were created. Then (and this is the part that I have searched the forum for for several hours) a random subset of the tiles applied to the roof were selected and one of the textures applied to them. Then, of the rest of the as yet untextured tiles, a random subset of those were selected and a second texture applied to them. Then, of the rest of the as yet untextured tiles, a random subset of those were selected and a third texture applied to them. Finally, the 4th texture was applied to the remaining untextured tiles.
The result was a fairly realistic randomly textured roof.
Can anyone remember that post?
Attached is a picture of two sets of the real pavers.

Pro users are either already using other Trimble products or are in closely related industries, like Architects, that are part of Trimble's market.
Since I don't even know what any of the other Trimble products are, and I'm not an architect, I can't agree with this.
In many ways, the basic SU product is a marvelously powerful tool with an exceptionally friendly learning curve. Once you add in the Ruby extensions which range all the way from making productivity easier to amazingly powerful additional capabilities, I, for one, will be using SU for a long time.
Extension Warehouse identifies Slice as enabled, but when used Slice is shown as expired.

If you want install and active by manual(not on Extension WareHouse) i will send the file *.rbz to you.
Seems like the only thing left to do
