Some time ago I used Fred06.s "[Plugin] RoundCorner" to round/bevel an edge then saved the file. Now I have decided the round/bevel edge is to large. Is there a way to undo the round/bevel and start over from a square edge and do it all over again without a re-draw?

RE: Which CAD program?
If Chief Architect is a consideration also take a look at SoftPLAN which you may find to be as good or better.

RE: Time Tracker?
SPERICAL TIMESHEET
I thought I posted this before but must not have clicked something correctly. I have used this for years and seen nothing better. You can set up jobs, task, paste from old to new etc. and it will keep track of EVERY MINUTE OF TIME you use (in the background-do not have to start/stop etc.)on the computer by screen, drawing or just about any way you want to compole it and print the time sheet in a number of ways. One thing I like to use it for is historical estimating of previous jobs or task.

RE: GE Modeling Jobs
Gaieus,
Thanks for responding! There are a lot of models on GE. I wonder which percentage is higher. Would it be the percentage done for fun/learning or the percentage done for pay.

GE Modeling Jobs
Do most folks create the beautiful models, using photo texturing for
Blue Ribbon acceptance/display on GOOGLE EARTH, just for fun to learn
SU modeling or do they get paid (or plan to eventually generate financial income) doing those models? -
RE: [Request]Cherry Tree
For some reason the zipped .png cherry trees did not tag along with the .jpeg image shown above. So, I have uploaded it seperately.

RE: [Request]Cherry Tree
Well, by coincidence I happened in today and found my old cherry tree request being answered. When requested there was an immediate need so I had no choice but to dig for a foto and carve one out with my own bare hands. I am probably the only one impressed with the outcome for it may not be that good. But, I tell you, after spending hours trying to figure out how to do it if I would have accomplished nothing more than a trunk, a single limb and a single leaf I would have had no choice but to either be impressed or suicidal. Anyway, this is what I came up with and if amyone can use it for anything please do so. I have nothing therefore nothing to give if not for this sort of cherry tree so here it is for whatever its worth.
I read what was mentioned about uploading a png so I am trying a jpeg. If all goes well png'ed cherry trees will be a zipped and attached also.
olishea,
That looks like a very fine cherry tree. I will PM you for it and any other you may be willing to forward. Thanks for responding!

[Request]Cherry Tree
Anyone know where I can find a good resolution digital photo of a Cherry Tree (blooming in spring) jpg with mask or png or tif with alpha channel or similar that at worst would be fairly easy to create a cutout from using PhotoSHOP.
Thanks for any help

RE: Toolbar behavior
I was just glad to discover that it was not something I caused. I have an incredible talent for hitting the wrong button or putting an inappropriate check in a box related to something and causing bizzare things to happen which require hours of mental anguish to get fixed. I posted back so others like me(if there are any)who might experience the same would just move on without suffering.

RE: Toolbar behavior
So everyone will know, it is a SU problem. I sent the information to Google and received the following responce:
Hi,
Thank you for the screenshot. We've been able to reproduce the behavior as you describe. At this time, SketchUp is behaving as intended. However, we'll note that this behavior isn't as expected and investigate improving the functionality. Thanks again for taking the time to write. Regards,The Google Team

Toolbar behavior
Does anyone have any idea how the activity shown in the attachment can be corrected? Also, is there a way to create ones own toolbars. It looks as though, from what I have seen on some screens, that a MAC permits the creation of toolbars using each individual icon.

RE: Links for good architectural blueprints?
This site might be of interest for info, images, drawings, 3D models etc.:
http://www.greatbuildings.com/buildings.html#F
If you download DesignWorkshop Lite here free :
http://www.artifice.com/free/dw_lite.html
you can then download models like this:
Robie_Residence-s.3dmf
Maybe there is a converter around somewhere that will convert .3dmf files to dxf/dwg.

RE: Lessonplan For Teaching SketchUp To Grade/Middle School Ages
Chris,
Thanks for responding! You have given me some ideas. I never thought of PS but it seems like a natural and not as messy as my early ons. Knowing what your daughter is doing, and can do, in SU is very helpful also. I definitely agree about spatial relationships and such.
If you ever come up with some lessons and have time to share I would really appreciate knowing about some of the lessons you develop. First off I will try them and if I have reasonable learning success I will pass along what little I master to boy wonder and let him have a go at it. The hard parts I will try to discuss with him so he can explain the how to’s later. Rubies seem to have a big future. As soon as he can read a few more words I think I will try to find him a good book about that stuff.

RE: Lessonplan For Teaching SketchUp To Grade/Middle School Ages
Chris,
You mentioned something that got my attention-a 4 year old. I have one also. From the Boot Camp etc. I know you are up there in knowledge of computers and SU. Is there anything you can tell that might deviate from the norm regarding things you did/do to bring your child along with computers? What types of things are you doing in relation to SU to generate a good start? My child is finally moving beyound pushing every buttom in site to see what will happen and we are thinking about a computer and SU as a preference instead of war games. My only fear is that he may leap frog ahead of me real quick. So, I would like to know your thoughts so I can better determine what to give and hold back for his benefit and my protection.

RE: Component Mystery
Hazza,
Thanks for responding but I just don't get it. This is the current situation. In the v7PRO Components Folder, which I previously created (using Expolrer), with a special folder name, I had placed components in that folder using "save as" from within a project I was working on.
I have now done the following:
1-I copy/pasted the component files, previously created and placed in the V7 Components Folder using "save as" into a temporary folder on my desktop and then deleted the folder I created (using Explore) in V7 Components Folder.
2-I renamed all the files in the temp desktop folder.
3-I created a new name v7 Components Folder and copy/pasted the newly named component files on the desktop into the new name V7 Components folder using Explorer.
4-I opened SU,abandoned the project I was working on, and started it again with a new file name. When I was ready to bring in one of the newly named components stored in the newly named V7 Component Folder I went, from within the new project to Windows > Components to the newly named Component Folder and found that my components still carried the old names I had been trying to get away from.
I cannot follow the logic of why I cannot rename a component purge, refresh or something and start over with a new project name.

Component Mystery
I make a component then right click-give it a name-save it to a folder I created in v7PRO components folder. Later, change the name in components folder and delete the one in the model I am working on-do a purge and then bring in the component, with the new name, but it still carries the old name. Try a refresh but no change. I then copy and paste the component to a folder outside of SU and on a different drive and change the name again. Next, I copy the component back into the component folder, restart SU, open a new file, open the Component Browser and the component still carries the old name. Tried a few variations of the same but the component name is still the same (old now) as originally given upon creation. Very mysterious to me. Any thoughts as to why the name never changes?

RE: Offset Limited
Gaieus and remus,
Thanks for responding! I found the problem to be my newbie failure to recognize the importance of Groups and Componets and to use them.
