RE: [Plugin] SUTool: a new way to manager your RB script
I figured out the answer to my own problem. There was one step left out of the tut.
Once you have created the ini file, you have to open it and save it again in Notepad with the .ini extension added to the file name. I didnt know that.

RE: [Plugin] SUTool: a new way to manager your RB script
I followed the SU Tut to the letter, I think. Mine will not recognize the new .ini files to the menu. Any idea what I did wrong?
I also noticed that the new text document is creating just that, a text document; not a config settings document. I got to be doing something wrong.

RE: Google Earth 4.3 implications for SketchUp
I was really looking forward to using version 4.3. When I downloaded it, I kept having a problem with it loading up. Dont know what happened, but I would like to try it again sometime.

RE: In Development: Subdivide and Smooth
Chip,
The intent of my original point was this: Doing what I do with SU, I probably wouldn't buy this script unless I had a specific purpose or need for it. The price is insignificant to me from that standpoint. If it were free, I might try it, see what I could do with it. It might be something I would use often, but then again, it might not be.Secondly: If I were in a profession (or not) that required more than the free version, and I needed it, I would purchase it, regardless of the price and recoup my investment along the way.
Thirdly: I have no idea if a script could be written specifically for one version or not, but I would think that it could be. There again, I have been wrong before.
and lastly: I looked up the meaning of facetious. You were absolutely correct in your definition. My usage of the word was incorrect, and to that, I say "Thank You" for calling me on it.
My apologies to all I may have offended.

RE: In Development: Subdivide and Smooth
I agree with both Philip and Ray. And as I said, I was not being insensitive with my comments. If this were a script I needed for a job or specific purpose, I would not be hesitate purchasing it for either version. But, at this moment it not an essential for me to have and by no means am I trying to slight Whaat in getting a return on his investment either. I admire anyone who sees a need and can fill it, either for himself or someone else. By the way, I don't know that I will ever be in the position to afford or need the Pro version, so for now the free version does just great for what I use it for.

RE: In Development: Subdivide and Smooth
If you really want to make it interesting, make it available for SU Pro, ONLY. That would separate it for those of us who use SU Free for dabbling and such. Would I buy it? not for my toying around, that's the difference. If it were free, I would try it out. If drawing and design was my primary profession, I would have the Pro version and gladly pay the price for this script, if I needed it. I've watched the video, read the feedback, and I think its a great script.
Excellent work, my hat's off to you for your resilience in making this possible, kudos to you Whaat.

RE: In Development: Subdivide and Smooth
Pick another word if you don't like that one. I could very well be using it out of context, I'm not above being inaccurate, wrong, or corrected. I think constructive criticism can be worthwhile.

RE: [Obsolete] Offset On Surface (v1.0)
I really like the possibilities and potential this script has. This is superb work.
...but, I have a question? When I pull the off-set, the edges are contoured, so they don't have a discernible face to each side. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?
Let me know and thanks again, this is a gem for sure

Cross section hatching
Does anyone have any of the correct cross section hatching for steel and such? What about any good steel textures?
Thanks

RE: [Plugin] Auto Centerpoint
Jim
You write good scripts, good thought and insight to need and purpose. I am confident that what ever addition and/or change you make will be good. As far as a layer, for guides and/or points, I like it the layer name CenterPoints, that way any center point you add should end up there, maybe.
Thanks

RE: Autosnap?
I'm impressed with the software demo for SquareClock. If some of these features could be used in SU. It may be even more of a complete package that it is already, making SU really a dynamic package.

RE: [Plugin] Auto Centerpoint
I find myself often deleting the guides and lines, only to replace them at a later time. I think rather than delete them, just make them go to a layer of their own instead. That notion has just dawned on me, remembering that I had asked for the same delete options only to find it already existed in the two scripts mentioned.
Another thought comes to mind, TIG has written a new script that moves hidden to layer, this may be something to expand on for the guides, but I dont know.

See: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?p=47582#p47582 for v1.1...
This script Hidden2Layer.rb moves hidden active entities onto a layer called HIDN...
Usage: Put this file into the Plugins Folder.
Pick "Hidden to Layer" off Plugins Menu...
Any Hidden Active Entities are moved onto Layer HIDN
This means that any Hidden Model-based Geometry is moved,
BUT if you want to do Hidden Entities that are inside of
Groups or Component Definitions then you need to Edit them
so their Entities are then 'Active' and then on running
this tool they will be moved to HIDN...It's main use is that when you want to export to DWG or DXF for use in CAD packags the SUp based hidden geometry is on a special layer - HIDN - and can be frozen or switched-off so it's not visible...

RE: [Plugin] Auto Centerpoint
Jim,
I don't care what anyone else says, I like it. It seems like you wanted to do more but ran out of gas. Here's what I hope you ultimately wanted to do with this:
The guide can easily be deleted, simply by clicking "Delete Guides".
It only shows up on the original single surface, it doesn't expand as an object is Push/Pulled, and it doesn't set a guide at the end of say, a cylinder when p/p, nor does it connect the two guides as a center line would. If you were ever to consider modifying it, this is something I would like to see.
Regardless, I will still use it, thank you very much

RE: Dimensions Added as Objects Are Drawn - Feedback Please
Rick W and TIG
Thanks for your response. I know what I suggested is simple on the outside. I only wished I had your experience so I could better understand what I am asking. I have read a lot on building rubies but it still alludes me. Thank you again for your thoughts.
