What I am worried is not the lack of features but the changes on things that were already there. For example before you could use free license for commercial use and now you can't?... .
Trimble have promised that there would be always a free version, they keep their promise but with this Important change (I'll still use an older version of GOOGLE Sketchup...thanks to all rubyscripters and Sketchucation)
It is certainly a Marketing decision but "Sketchup2013/Make" seems similar to Autodesk products name ( strange considering that Sketchup has influenced some of the Autodesk products )

RE: Flat interior - C&C welcomed!
what render engine do you use ?
As fot the flat effect, I do agree as the left part of the image looks a little bit flat, it maybe needs darkening some part in Photoshop...but anyway, it is already Great.

Random colors using predefined colors
Hi,
How to color randomly ( using a ruby script) the elements using the prediefined colors as in the picture below
I've tried the plugin (color by group) but couldn't find the way to use the predefined colors ?

RE: Animating a push-pull
Thanks
Pilou: that's could be a solution but for massing, I would rather prefer a solid box instead of an empty one. ( as it results from the section )
Jeff: I'm not that keen on dynamic componant...and As I'm a sketchup free version user...
I think I should have named this thread deformation animation.
let say changing the position of the object. from a to b and sketchup could autmaticaly create the intermediary position of the object.
a second example would be: I want to deform a cylinder. in whih the upper cirle change in scale and become bigger than the base. -
Animating a push-pull
Hi!
I would like to know if there is any way ( function/ ruby / plugin) that can create an animation for a push pulled box for example , instead of scene
let's say I have a box which is 3m in height and would like to have it in 6m in the final result. I would like to see an animation that reproduce the pushpulling of the 3m diffrence
Hope it's clear.

Morph in ArchiCAD. ( Sketchup like function(s) )
Sketchup is really an inspring software...( not for the price though )
as an example, the well know push/pull
For a parametric software, this seems disconcerting.

RE: A new home for SketchUp
As a free sketchup user and google opensource "fan", this not the best annoucement I would have expected (wouldn't dare to say a sad one ).
we can't deny the fact that google brought a lot of new users ( mainly because of the free version) .that it has blown a fresh air on the AEC softwares( compare how many sketchup clones and how many free softwares since its apprearence under the google umbrella. )._ not to mention the Sketchup plugins from the leading softwares in the industry...
All I Hope is that it will continue with Trimble...
@last has done a great work with SKetchup, but I didn't pay attention to Sketchup until google bought it ( even if i've heard about it when it was @last ). I do understand their feeling when seeing their software not evolving as they wanted it to be . And also Glad that they continue as Sketchup developpers. ( more success Wishes.)
