First finished Maxwell renders
-
I've bought Maxwell for SU year ago and didn't use it at all (working with Vray for SU) but these days I'm bit sick, so I made some reaserch through avalible render engines and gave a Maxwell a chance. Please comments and critics welcome. (Sometimes are my eyes blind to my own mistakes)

Nice work - they are very clear - how long did it take to render? I would recommend some soft shadows and better second plans. Also the wooden shed doesn't look natural - needs material adjustment.

Thanks alot, I will work on it, because I have to make a version of this concept, so Ill try to make better wood material. Sorry for my english but I dont understand what does it mean "better second plans". And also I dont know how to set up softter shadows but I will have a look on it. The render time was around 1 hour I quess, but my home machine is just Macbookpro 2008, with C2D 2.5GHz and 4GB ram, so nothing really fast.

Hi, by second plans I meant the background of your views, especially on the first two ones. Somehow I find them unnatural, but I can't really put my finger on it. Maybe it's the case of depth of field (the first plan bush is very blurred) - don't really know, maybe just other images would fit better. On the third one it looks good. As for the sof shadows - the sky looks a bit cloudy, so soft shadows probably would look more natural, but again it's a matter of a bit of experimenting.

aha, thank you very much now I understand I'll try to make it better on the next set of images. But I don't know how to set the softtnes of shadows in Maxwell for SU I think it's somehow preset in the Physical Sky. Maybe I'll try nextime HDRi light...but nayway thanks again, i keeps me pushing forward and I'm glad that I gave Maxwell a chance cause I see that I can put it in my prodction pipeline

For softer shadows with the Physical Sky you want to increase the atmospheric scattering of the sunlight (thus diffusing the light) -- this is done primarily by increasing the Turbidity Coefficient (a little goes a long way here -- between .01 and .1 is best) and increasing the Reflectance/Scattering Asymmetry (0.85 would be my maximum value for both settings).
Best,
Jason. -
Thank you very much Jason, I'll try and than you alot also for all You've done for Maxwell and SU
this is another version of the house, hope the renders are better....please critics welcome
