thomtom yes arroway textures can disarm sketchup especially when you trying export su to some render program. In my case to maxwell. I think its because of texture size.

RE: Multi-threading inside SketchUp
I'm working with very large textures and I think su offten crashes because of that reason. It just can't work with very large files. You can operate inside sketchup but forget the export. Well that's just my guess. At home I have x64 bit os and there are no such problems - not so offten.

RE: Autumn Render SU > Maxwell
Oh yess now I see that they are onyx
Only onyx has those weird branches and trunks but only if you look very close to that trees
Very very nice work!

RE: Nvidia vs. ATI
I think Nvidia is just a little better when working in sketchup but this is just what i feel when working in sketchup at home and work.

RE: Autumn Render SU > Maxwell
Nice work Richard!
What did You used for vegetation? Trees are 3d models? -
RE: Maxwell Displacement Part II Solved!
Thanks Solo for reply!

RE: Maxwell Displacement Part II Solved!
Ok Ill try 3ds and then tell You how it's work.

RE: Maxwell Displacement Part II Solved!
And how can I do that? That welding vertices stuff?

Maxwell Displacement Part II Solved!
Hi all!
Long time no posts from me
Here is another problem:
Some weird ripples apear on surface when rendering. My guess is that something is wrong with vertex normals. Geometry is made in Sktechup then exported as OBJ added some adjustments in Modo and then imported in Maxwell render.
Here You can see some of geometry and normals:
I'm really stuck with this problem
This is the project (work in progress) where I need that (censored) grass
Result:
Problem was with normals. Maxwell used surface normals and vertex normals and that made those riples. I deleted surface normals in modo and now displacement rendering is correct.
PS. Remove surface normal map and then freeze geometry.

RE: Need help @ texturing column
Thanks for help! I just hope next su releases will contain some more texturing options
-
RE: Need help @ texturing column
Yes. Center round detail is separated from main column with group.

RE: Need help @ texturing column
Yes I have tried projection stuff. It work's but not 100%. As You can see in attachmen - texture is stretched at column sides. I just think that this question must be included in next sketchup release. Maybe some plugin can handle such situations. UV tools doesn't.

RE: Need help @ texturing column
Dave but as result I will have terrible tiling. Model size is not a problem for me. My pc can handle very large and complex models - I just need them to be complex for my work.

RE: Need help @ texturing column
Damn! After closer look I can see that problem still exists:
Edited ColumnProjected texture streches on both sides and that is not what I need.

RE: Need help @ texturing column
Thanks for fast reply! Here is that column:
Column.skpOk I'm finally complete that crappy column
After some adjustments and tweakings and more and more here is the result :
