I am using this in work and it's working really well without error for many months now.
Data prep is more of an issue for more complex models I am bringing in from places like Delatgen and Catia, SketchUp however is the easiest of the bunch.
You do need SketchUp Pro to make it work however and I havent' yet tried it on SU2019.
I am using a custom configuration for my 2.8 Blender interface by Vaughan Ling aka 'HeavyPoly'. I got it as part of a tutorial here https://gumroad.com/vling (I bought the container ship tutorial). I believe you can get the config for free on his website however.
Now on day 4 of learning to model and it's going very well so far. It will be a perfect companion for SketchUp I think, hopefully I will be up to speed in a month.
Indeed I owe you that much, send me a mail to liam@robotsvdinosaurs.com and I will sort out a nice big file repository for you!

I know you love scifi like me so I can send you some of my half finished bits and bobs and you can see where your imagination takes you? I owe you a million times over for using your wheels in so many of my pics so it's only Karma!!
That would great. Thanks!
What's your poison, bipedal walking machines or hovering electromagnetic hover units?
Looks exactly like the rolling stock we have here in Gothenburg! Has been on my to-do list.
You should edit this slightly and enter it into the SketchUp competition
I have to say, I was disappointed when I clicked and it was not a spaceship, I was so excited somebody had made the spaceship from Renzevouz with Rama: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendezvous_with_Rama (the first hard scifi book I ever read as a kid)... but this is a really good render well done!! Especially first go this is some very good work!
