Modlumi - Easy 3D modelling
-
@Krass Yes! But integrated directly into the software, not as a plugin. It's easier to have it directly in modlumi.
-
There's a part of me that's wants to know what @pilou types for his prompts.
But there's another part of me that says don't stare into the abyss
-
Thanks @pilou and @Krass for the reports and examples! Four fixes went into the code today:
Copies now create separate faces
Copying rectangular outlines onto an existing face now splits the surface into independently selectable regions.
Offset works on the copied regions
The related βaffected coplanar faces have overlapping interiorsβ error is fixed. Copied geometry now integrates with the surrounding surface, allowing Offset to work normally.
Sweeping an offset ring leaves both ends open
Offsetting the flat polygon first and sweeping the outer ring now produces the expected hollow shape, without blocking the starting opening.
Move copy arrays are much faster
An 11 Γ 11 array of loose cylinders took 34.8 seconds before and 0.61 seconds after in our desktop test. Components remain useful, but loose geometry should no longer suffer that particular slowdown. Browser timings havenβt been measured yet.
Keep the bugs coming; I'll keep squashing!
Cheers!

The improvement is really crazy! Thanks for sharing...
-
great ! thanks

@rich-o-brien
My prompt was!
(not a big page turner!
Effacer les axes et faire une image d'animacules sous-marin.
for you...
Erase the axes and create an image of underwater animals. -
Here i have tested an SKP import! (not made with SketchUp but SKP file)
Request : can whe have a Drag & Drop of compatible files inside ModLumi ?
And an automatic rescale of the import file ! Because here maybe one hundred too little!

Follow red not ModLumi !

Red is not from ModLumi !

ModLumi on the right but I don't gave the same chance to it !
Not the same number of faces!
(less that i can made : )

But seems not a problem!
From ModLumi

-
Bravo for the last reslease!

thanks,
copying faces works well now ! -
New in Modlumi: copy arrays with progressive scaling
You can now combine Move or Rotate with Copy and scaling to create progressively smaller or larger copies.
The GIFs show two examples:
Move + Copy: enter
x6 80%to create six copies, each 80% of the previous size. The spacing scales too.
Rotate + Copy: make a first copy at 30Β°, then enter
x12 90%to create twelve copies that shrink around the same pivot, forming a spiral.
Tap Ctrl while using Move or Rotate to enable Copy, place the first copy, then type the count and scale and press Enter.
Curious to see what youβll build with it!
-
perfect!
-
Very cool and absolutely necessary! Bravo! (special copy)
With that, infinite space geometry is open!
You have a very reactive productivity!
Now Boolean!
If seems not yet integrated when you compose 2 volumes!
(or more)This works but Not if we draw the true diagonal at the start!!! (Bug ? )
(or maybe because i select also the behind little vertical edge of the second box by error?
Edit : in fact not works : the Push here is only an erase!
-
For me there is always a bug!
V 09... (Push or Pull)

-
Request : some center functions of a selection...

And what about Points ?
-
Do you know merory copy plugin? It would be perfect have this function
-
@pilou Thanks for testing this! I tried to reproduce it, but couldn't break it yet.
Could you post the .modl file (File β Save As) or a GIF of the true diagonal case where it goes wrong? Then I can chase it down.
Booleans are on the list too.
Cheers!
Thomas

@pixelcruncher The Push Pull in this case is in fact a sort of an erase object!

Your Move Copy Rotate */ % is a killer one!
Test_a.zip .modl linked!

-
In fact that works but as we can't select one of the 2 objects at the end!

It's not usable!
(or a special selection ... a named selection...
-
A component along a rail!

Imagine that you can make!
Here not ModLumi but we can make quasi the same with your previous Scale Rotation...
