When I left the regular army in 1983 I wanted to go to university.

I got out of the US Army in 1968 and was lucky enough to us the GI Bill to help pay for me to go to college ai night. πŸ˜€

I am lucky enough to have a team of doctors that I think are great people. Although I am in my 80’s, I think I am lucky that I can keep things pretty positivs. πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Long may it remain that way. There are always 'things' that keep us rooted in reality and knowing there is always someone worse off.

I come here to 'meet' fantastic people and being invigorated in my hobby. The thing that keeps me going.

I am more grateful for all of you than I can say.

I have communicated my displeasure to the builders of the current pc and it will be going back. At some stage I will be AFK because the previous pc backup is now deceased.

Hopefully not without kit for long.

Keep on keeping on, only game in the Sol system.

Still nothing, sad that even now such extreme situations can be inuring us to suffering. I was hoping we would collectively be better by now.

Hopefully the only way is up.

In this case Greece and parts of Italy.

I live in that part of Italy and I have to partly disagree.
Regardless the storytelling about that, by no means that's the main problem we have to face.
To be fair, we have 1 illegal immigrant for every 100 people, we have 15 people who are basically fascists for every 100 people, we have 36 functional illiterates for every 100 people, not to mention that we have 100 members of parliament with some kind of criminal record out of 600.

Rightly or wrongly the Italians have a history of dissatisfaction with Government going back thousands of years and this is evidenced by looking at the graffiti in and around Rome. I think that anyone who does not see that Europe is being invaded by a group that has no chance of integration is misguided and irrational. Have a look at what demographic projections are like in 15 years time. The gate can not be closed when the horse has bolted.

This is absolutely true but again: this has nothing to do with some imaginary "invasion".
It's mostly related to a few real problems.

My perception, based not on graffiti or a certain type of foreign press, but on the fact that I was born and lived here all my life, is that the top ten reasons are the following (aside from the ones I mentioned, which are indirectly the cause of most of the others):

                  • corrupt politicians
                  • mafia
                  • half the population pays extremely high taxes because the other half evades them
                  • half the population retired under the old laws under 40, and the other half will have to work until they're over 70 under the new laws to pay the pensions of those others
                  • non-existent industrial policies and avalanches of public money given away to companies like Fiat and Alitalia, who ate it up and then went abroad
                  • high unemployment and low wages
                  • high inflation and constantly rising prices
                  • if you book a medical appointment at a public facility, the first available date is in 6 months (or in more than a year for particularly specialized visits)
                  • uncontrolled car traffic, poor public transportation, and Unreliable and potholed roads, delayed trains.
                  • Poor management of public waste collection

                      Well, you said that:

And I have to disagree. The official numbers are those I reported and believe me the reasons for the rage against government you are talking about raise from the problems which I listed, rather than the "invasion".

Honestly? Our knowledge of and exposure to situations in other nations is mostly fed by media and so called 'influencers' (Who frankly should not be considered more knowledgeable than the average goldfish).
From my standpoint I can only go by what I have seen and experienced. More and more so called refugee's who frankly are only here due to incompetence in government and profiteering by the gangs for profit.

Italy is a point of entry into the eu, they shuffle them all the way to the channel and we kop them.

In the end it did for Merkel in Germany.

I do not hate these folk who are drip fed lies about the situation in the UK etc. I would like the situation changed to "How can the situation in poorer countries and those led by ultra nationalists or dictators be changed so they are safe in their own homes"?

Why risk life and limb crossing the channel in makeshift rafts and hoping?

We can do better, be better but it will take more thought than I have seen so far.

Have a great day folks, be kind to yourself and each other.

I mainly come here to read information about SketchUp, I very rarely participate. I am nevertheless surprised that in a thread hoping for the best for an Iranian user in these troubled times, some people are resorting to spouting their delusions about a Muslim invasion of Europe.
As well as being off-topic, I find this particularly distasteful.

PS: No need to reply to me on this point, you can continue your stinking β€œdebate” among yourselves. As for me, I'm just waiting hopefully for news from Majid, whose drawings I miss...

To which delusional Muslim invasion are you alluding to, no mention of any Muslim invasion here.

The stinking debate is probably between your own ears mate.
