Messing around with more twin-t construction. I wanted to make this a hobby shop but can't find the appropriate assets. Don't really feel like making it from scratch. Storefront is probably too upscale for this use.

Nice render. Building is certainly unique. There's serious security going on!

Great sign and the train really "makes it so".

                Pardon the poor pop reference.

                    Thanks Mike, Rich.

That's the original Sketchup EMD SD-45 model which I imported into D5 and exported as an asset.

                    Did some mods.

Interesting design. Wouldn’t say it’s too upscale. Definitely has a modernist feel to it. Unfortunately hobby shops are dwindling fast here in the U.S.

Fairly common trend around the world. The explosion in price of plastic kits is eye watering if you are old enough to think of 'pocket money kits'. Not that you could afford to buy one a week but, saving up for them was doable. That kept a lot of us going.

I have some Airfix kits here and a few Tamiya etc. Far too valuable to build them.

One of the reasons I went into paper and card models and even those are creeping up in value/cost.

Plastic models used to be all the rage back when I was a kid. I sort of lost track in my 20s. But back when there were hobby shops as well as departments stores and even drugs stores that would sell plastic model kits.

Monogram and Revell kits were the most popular. Especially car models. They would also sell model paint and glue which was usually Testors. 3 bucks or 5 bucks for a kit. Which of course when you're a kid that was usually above your budget unless you go begging your dad for a couple of dollars.

RC models are still rather popular. Model railroading was also another trend back when. Lionel 0 gauge trains are very pricey. The RC stuff you'd have to go to a hobby shop but they used to sell model railroading gear in department stores as well.

Trends change I guess. Building things is no longer popular. Even back then your dad might have gotten into Heathkit to learn electronics. We'd build go-karts out of scrap wood and metal parts your dad might have been hoarding.

I don't know mate I used AI, giving it quite a few prompts. I also used a visual prompt There is a very popular store in Australia called JB hi fi. Having studied a bit of Graphic design along with Industrial design When I saw the the JB logo I disliked it, I thought it looked cheap, but the graphic designers really new there stuff. The visual message is stand out and express "cheap" I did the experiment with putting this on a page with about a hundred normal thumbnail images and your eye goes straight to this image. they did a test on brand recognition an JB hi fi came in second after IKEA (Ickky)JB.png
