You model crazy fast!
I personal enjoy the updates. Stunning progress in so short a time!
-
Pretty cool. I can smell the creosote and salt air from here.
-
Thanks! I wish I was doing this full time! then I could go at a much quicker pace
Focusing on the superstructure for now to get it balanced with the rest before moving on to the last final detail pass
-
Bridge blockout complete, and some railings ,theres way more to do on this bridge then on Panther! this should be fun, currently on 30K polys
-
This whole items just blows my mind away. Really GREAT work.
-
Thanks nxtdave, glad you are enjoying the show
Forecastle area getting there, still need to add support posts, cut the hull, fairleads etc, and then on to the winches!
-
Fantastic, proper virtual shipyard.
-
Following your work with interest, I assume you specialise in sea vessels? Is you background something nautical?
-
Thanks guys, Yes ocean going vessels have always captivated me, the largest purpose built moving objects mankind has ever made for the harshest wearing environment, sets the stage for endless entertainment
Winches, chocks and fairleads fitted, the anchor chain will need special attention, the current modeled version is far to poly heavy to be used in game
-
Just stunning. The speed and detail are just stunning.
-
Thanks Bryan, but a stomach bug caught up to me forcing me to rest for 2 days! good time to spend collecting reference though
Deck level gangway details complete, small details added here and there, next the foredeck needs its final touches, then I think the superstructure mast needs attention
-
Wow.
-
Foredeck & mast complete, liferaft and navlights will be done later when I do all the loose fittings, along with the anchors. Also made my first container, the textures are light balanced as they are rendered from a model so that I have control of the white balance and perspective
Heres a 4k Overview
-
Messing about with lights, will only be able to add a simple mesh light though for the lenses, no fancy cutting of the mesh for effects for me, going to try the alpha gradient trick but im not holding my hopes up that it will work
-
Superstructure mast is complete, nav lights coming soon, Cranes are also completed along with the spreader cages
-
Bridge exterior is complete, this is where I expect the ships master to spend most of his/her time, so ive hopefully added enough detail here to satisfy
-
-
Impressive!
-
Looks great. Is this for work, pleasure or both?
-
Thanks guys! She will be used in both Vsng and Navismaster simulators ( Our own sim that we are developing )
Attached is a sneak peak of her in Navismaster, and here is our current progress with of my other vessels, the Monterey clipper fishing boat
