Meh. Hated it.
This is the last one for tonight.
-
Dammit! I need to go to bed!
-
See? Much better!
-
My first car ever! (Seriously, this is my first car)
Just to use in this scene. Yes, it's crude. Low poly for a reason.
2nd picture is what the previous "placeholder" looked like.

Update.

Update.

Cool! Would be great to let it start and fly ..

... watch this from the first scratch and again, I love this Airship as well as your entire story and itΒ΄s development. Keep going (but don't forget to go to bed on time, at least 2 or 3 times a week)
if I had seen this thing, I would have been tempted to play with this shape too, but I probably wouldn't have held out so tightly - respect! -
Thanks faust07 and HornOxx.
Unfortunately, my PC is too old to do any real animation, but yes, that would be cool to have it move. I'll settle for a good render.
It has been a challenging project so far. I always try to push myself with each project, which is why I was worried when I went through my "slump" for so long.
As for sleep, well, I'm between contracts (unemployed) right now, so I have time on my hands.

Update.
-
Minor update. Fixed the monorail. Added strip to airship.
-
Had to tweak the monorail again. Terminal buildings coming along. Major changes to file structure and components.

Great work. You captured the idea and feeling of the original Mead piece beautifully even if it isn't line for line.

Thanks!

I must have missed the original inspiration, however, it is an atmosphere that goes with a build/render that makes it and you have this in spades. Cracking.

Thanks! I am only copying a master, Syd Mead.
Pilou posted the original up thread.

And that should do it. Next I'll try a render this weekend.

Nice, but I have some doubts. Airships are very sensitive to wind, so, unless they are in a closed hangar, they should always face the wind, held by the nose. The nose crane should be on rails, to move around to keep the ship facing the wind, and the land structures should be drawn so as not to interfere with the movement ...
