How did you render that? It looks fantastic with the pattered brass/copper body. I can only dream of getting to that quality in rendering.
Keep it up, Don.

Brilliant!
The spiral of the arms and back give it a real flair. How did you do those?
Don
Haven't logged in for a while but came across your shuttle Bryan, keep it up! A wonderful design, it would feel at home in the Traveler rpg. Try shortening the forward landing gear to give the ship a nose down attitude on the ground, or perhaps have tandem forward gears with the main cargo ramp opening between them. If you get to painting it, I'll vote for Thunderbird 2 green.
Good dwork, Don.
Just found this and I have to say well done. Simple shapes and you build up detail; very quickly. I like the shape and external hatch detail.
good job. Donnewtype.
Good day all.
Finished modelling the USS Enterprise from the Original Series Blueprints as drawn by Franz Joseph. Here are some shots of the exterior:
Now I've started on modelling the shuttle bay and doors as well. Here is a look at the finished work so far. I'll post more in WIP
Both images make me want to live in the house, but the second one seems more natural, late afternoon, early evening during the summer or maybe early September. Brilliant work though.
Good day everyone.
So I grew up watching Starblazers (Space Battleship Yamato)on Chanel 29 Buffalo NY in 1978 and 1979 and have always loved the ships. Now I discover a Japanese artist by the name Lighthouse Zen and his/her's fantastic artwork of ships from the Yamato series. Check out the work at out at this link http://lighthousezen.seesaa.net/
Anyway one t=of the designs I found was for this cool looking Space Battleship, Sleipnir, which looks like this
So now here is my version of it with the addition of two extra main turrets
Getting the proportions right was tricky working from a perspective illustration, but I think I got the relative sizes correct, to my eye that is.
Working on the rear engine detail and then the bridge structure so there is more to come.
Good day everyone.
So I dove into another project for fun, the BFG 9000 from Doom (2016 version)
I found numerous references online including two versions that were 3d printed! It's really big!
Anyway, built up the basic shapes first, then added more detail.
So first is a couple of reference images I based the design on:
So now here is the SU version:
More detail to add.
Now I would also like to render it, so what is a recommendation for the easiest render extension that I could try? Not the most features, but easiest to learn. Would appreciate some help.
Don
Thanks Bryan. I'll try not to be.
Great work. You captured the idea and feeling of the original Mead piece beautifully even if it isn't line for line.
