            Good luck man!

I hope SketchUp contracts you to assist with queries, as you seem to be able to help in most (read just about all) queries. And I'm not trying to blow some smoke...

Hi all. Thanks for the good words. Never fear. I'm not retiring from SketchUp or Sketchucation. I only retired from my day job. I won't be wearing surgical scrubs or working on life support equipment anymore. Now I can't officially tell you why you're hitting your airway pressure limit before you deliver the tidal volume you have set or why the pleth waveform regularly goes flat line every three minutes. (Unofficially I could tell you if you want to know. πŸ˜„ )

Anyway, I'll still be around here.

And for those who are jealous of my new job, perhaps we could set up a job sharing thing. There are two Shifts, you know.

That's an interesting thought. I would like to build another boat but I wasn't thinking of one large enough to make the crossing.

When you build it large enough, there are several places ypu should stop in europe. Lisbon is mandatory!

On the boat idea! I was intrigued with this CNC (Maslow) boat.

Got my Maslow in about a month ago and set 'er up, went through calibration(s), and started in on a few small β€˜starter’ projects. Quickly, however, I decided to start in on a Bolger Bobcat sailboat: [IMG_20171213_112448…

Mike, you're right. I will be busy. If I can make room in my shop for it, I do want to build an Iain Oughtred double ender.

Peter, the zip ties are only temporary. The building method is called stitch and glue. The panels are pulled together with the zip ties and then glued with epoxy. After the epoxy cures, the zip ties are removed and the holes sealed up with more epoxy. They used to use copper wire instead of the zip ties but the price of copper makes that prohibitive now.

My father retired at around your age, he always said he couldn't understand how he ever had time for work. Was still active in his workshop until about a week before he died recently at 87. Simply bloody exhausted if you ask me.

Shame about the zip ties, more plastic waste.

                              Thanks for the info!
My father built two boats from plans/kits. I think he screwed everything together while gluing. To me the boat building was revealing of him, his character, and even our family dynamics, and the passages of life. I do not build boats but have ended up spending more time on the water than he. It was enough for me to glue the handle on my paddle recently!
