WrapR 1.1 Beta Trial

Not having to right click reload, allows for faster workflows:
1 - Mark seams on Component#1; Component#2; Component#3; Component#4...;
2 - Send to wrapr, assume auto unwrap, save and close.
3 - Reload happens automatically;
4 - Repeat step two for each component;I intend on using wrapr for such things like multiple windows or doors, or multiple beams in a roof. It's a tedious workflow and any step you could provide to easen the burden would be welcome. That right-click is one such step.
I also like when I use sketchup to send a texture to my image editor and it's automatically switched on SU when I save it there. It's not much, but always causes a nice impression on me.

Right click menu: 'Reload from Wrap-R'.
There is no right click menu within the wrapr application that I'm aware of. I did all the cuts and unwrapping in the standalone wrapr application. The save button says it saves and then gives you the option to continue working and it reloads the mesh, but it reloads the original without any of the changes to the UV map.
As a separate problem the pluging within sketchup does not seem to install for me. Using the rubyinstaller.exe in the folder brings up an empty list of components to select from and says install components.

What version of SketchUp do you use?

Could you please send me a screenshot how the rubyinstaller.exe shows up when you start it separately? Also: Do you get any error messages when you start it up?

I had an older version installed, that was the problem so I updated to the latest version and the plugin installed. Now, however after making the cuts in sketchup, and sending it to wrapr it doesn't automatically open wrapr. It creates the component then does nothing and if I try to open the file manually in wrapr it tells me it can't open files with components, so then if I delete the component it opens but doesn't keep any of the cuts I made within sketchup.

Please open the ruby console before sending to Wrap-R. Are there any error messages when you try to send?

It comes up with this error.

Thank you very much for the information. Soon we will be out with a fix for the problem. Just one more question: Did you change the default install path of Wrap-R when you installed it?

Wrap-R 1.1.3 Beta is available now and can be downloaded from the link:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/wrapr-download/WrapR-installer_1_1_3.exeChanges since 1.1.1:
- Several error fixes including the problem with the plugin spotted by @oalexis
- Now the unwrapped SketchUp model can be saved as ".obj" or ".dae" file as well
- The installer will not require to remove previous install, it will simply overwrite the previous install files.

Excellent feature as Sketchup nativelly deals well with .dae
Thanks once again Gábor!

Just went to install the new version & SketchUp still says it's using 1.1.0. What's the best way to install the latest version? When I go to Add Extension in SU Preferences>Extensions it wants a .rbz file which I can't seem to find. Where's the installer file we should use to install the new version?

Where do you see the version 1.1.0? In the SketchUp Plugin or on the standalone Wrap-R program's window title line?
The installation should work like this: You start WrapR-installer_1_1_3.exe. When the installer displays the ruby installer window, you select from the list the SketchUp versions you want the plugin to be installed on. When the installation of Wrap-R is finished, you restart SketchUp and you should see the new plugin there. If it was not working this way then it means a malfunction.
To be able to track down the problem, please give us some more details:
- Did you do the installation as described above?
- Is the standalone Wrap-R application version number in it's window's title line correct?
- If yes, where do you see the 1.1.0 version number?
-
How do you rotate the model in WrapR? I can move it side to side with my right mouse button but can't seem to rotate the model to see all sides.
Don't worry, I hadn't mapped my middle mouse button for WrapR. Now I have, all good.
I reckon some more detailed help files are required for noobs like me. A .PDF format user manual would be handy. Some of us rural Aussies don't have the most reliable internet connection & can't always rely on online help.

Hi guys!
I just get back to testing Wrap-r since a couple of very busy weeks, and when i try to activate the new beta license (date 2017-06-08) on the current 1.1.3 installer it shows me the ERROR_A0C
Does anyone have a clue about why is this happening? I have tried on a fresh SketchUp Pro 2017 and 2016 installs, Windows 10 64bit. Previous versions worked flawlessly.
Thanks in advance! -

The error message is related to the computer's name check. Have you changed your computer's name since the last install? Also please check if your computer name contains any special characters.
Also please try to erase the
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Wrap-R\signature.txt
file before trying to activate again. If it not helps, please PM me this file and the name of your computer. -

Thank you for your fast response Gábor!

Just tried to open WrapR 1.1 & won't let me activate it. When I load the Free License text I got emailed for Beta testing, it says it has expired or become corrupted.

Visit wrap-r.com and get a new installer and license key.

Is it possible or planned to have multiple components/groups in one WrapR file? Because I use it for hard surface models which all use one texture but it is essential they are divided into separate groups.
Also would it be possible in SU to color the edges directly when marking seams instead of having what seems to be an overlay? Sometimes the green edges are hard to see as the geometry occludes it.
