smarty pants.... that fan looks a little more work though..?
-
 Umm, not really.

It would be nice to see what others are making with SUbD.
Another doodle, inspired by someone asking how to make a pineapple post cap. They only wanted a simple solid shape, but I went over the top as usual.
It's a very simple proxy component, radial array, copy and flip.

"...but I went over the top as usual..." and as usual you manage to turn the "simplest" thing into a so wonderful complex shape - I love it! and as usual you manage to turn the "simplest" thing into a so wonderful complex shape - I love it!

Work in progress. A knife, maybe a short sword. QFT + VT + SUbD.

Another bit of SUbD fun for no other reason than it makes me smile.

 All models start with box...
-
box.... very cool. Simple, creative and fun! Bravo.
-
This time I've tried to create a GIF like the ones made by Box. A couple of before/after SUbD pics.

-
Excellent! So that's it for me, no more sketchup.
-

-
Ok, I might do one or two more.

 thanks for the nice compliment
I have a question about your cool geometry here: I still live in the idea that everything must consist of quads, what gets edited with SubD. You are showing a lot of pyramids on your geometry which seem like triangles to me. - is this no longer a problem for SubD?

@hornoxx said: You are showing a lot of pyramids on your geometry which seem like triangles to me. - is this no longer a problem for SubD? Nope! SUbD first subdivision divides the triangles into three quads. So the Β«problemΒ» is solved. This pic is from the SUbD website:

Again and again I am drawn to the, how should I express this? "lively" figures - probably as a contrast to the everyday banalities? This certainly "Not Jurassic Park suitable somehow T-Rex" is made with SubD - Entirely of course ! This certainly "Not Jurassic Park suitable somehow T-Rex" is made with SubD - Entirely of course ! And as always, the proxy skp-file is attached hereEdit #1: after the first more simple Dino attempt (because just mirrored) I now tried to give this yellow beast some more motion and dynamic (pic3) (pic3)
