Artisan Beer Goggles

That's no typo.
This is my first successful Artisan model. Also the first time I selected Photon Mapping with Caustics AA+0.3 in Kerkythea.
The aliasing isn't as good as I think it should be, but that's probably just the limits of my video card.
Still, I'm pleased with the results for now. About 30 minutes to model, but 2 hours to get the right render. (several render tests and a slight tweak back in SU)
Thanks to the Artisan thread by Cotty and also to Barry for pointing me in the right direction. I think I'm going to like this very much.
(can someone show me how to make shorter links? Thanks)

Nice Brian. That's a great first run Artisan + Kerky PM

I'm just wondering why you have to complicate things when with a good profile you can do great glasses with the follow me tool...Also the models seem to have some issue on upper edges. Finally too smoothed glass can lead to problems when rendered.

Very true. This is just an exercise to learn to use Artisan.
One of the things I like about SketchUp is the variety of ways you can build a model.
The lip of the glasses issues was a failure to properly manually divide the quads in that area. This is what else I learned from doing this model.
For some odd reason, SketchUp glass did not export to Kerky. I ended up using Kerky's stock glass materials and because the samples were so small and the test render times very long, I just finally said to heck with it. I'm not expert enough with Kerky to master materials yet.
Or we could just say these are the really cheap restaurant glasses some bars buy.

I know, keep testing.
I'm a complete noob with artisan.@unknownuser said:

For a "common" glass just use the settings in the picture below.

Have you got a model of your glass before subdividing? Could be a really simple fix for the rim.
Great start Bryan! Love seeing Artisan work!

Yes. I know what I did wrong. I did not properly manually divide the quads near the rim. Oops.
I'll let this one stay and do another. I need the practice.
Already working up new scenes and designs!
