Anyone else having plugin issues with SU2013?
-
All,
Just got the 2013 version of SU and copied over the plugins from SU8. Most are fine but certain ones fail to load. it says,'This plugin requires SketchUp version greater than 6. Current version is 13.0.3689.'
I am assuming it is reading the 1 instead of 13.
This is that same message for: Curviloft, FredoScale, RoundCorner and TOS.All these are Fredo6's excellent plugins. Is there a simple fix to this, or do I need to download them again, or does the script need tweaking? If I had the brains I was born with I would have had a go at trying to fix it, but I am more comfortable in front of the software, I will leave the alchemy to those who know what they are doing.
Vray 1.6 beta for SU is awesome by the way. Proxies are a real timesaver as is the live update real time render view.many thanks in advance.

Paul, this isn't a bug with SketchUp 2013 so I moved it into SketchUp Discussions.
You should be installing current versions of plugins where you can instead of copying old ones from your old Plugins folder. Fredo has recently updated is plugins so you won't get those error messages. Use the Sketchucation PluginStore and SketchUp's Extension Warehouse to download and auto-install the plugins.

OK, so I have to download all new plugins good my folder was getting messy, but on opening an SU 8 drawing nothing but the drawing came in. None of my templates, materials, components, styles, layers. the only thing that did come in was scenes. HELP
-
Plugins will each have to be turned on in the toolbar menu and or the extension menu.
templates will have to be set again
materials will need to be moved to the new materials folder
components will need to be moved to the new components folder
styles will need to be moved to the new styles folder
layers will come with the new template. After all of this is done you should restart SU.

Thanks, I had to make change via the flyout menus in each window rather than thru the preferences window. I am up and running now.

I can't get 1001 bit tools pro v2 to activate, it activates fine on sketchup 8, has anyone else had this issue..?
I have managed to get all of my other plugins working except for the maxwell render suite plugin..

Did you move/copy everything over from v8 properly - the license file is inside the '1001bit_pro' subfolder inside Plugins called something like '1001bit_pro.key': the loader that belongs in the Plugins folder is called '1001bit_pro.rb'.
Do you have FULL security permissions to your Plugins folder - since you haven't given any helpful info in your User-Profile like OS etc, here's a guess...
You don't, because the newly installed folder set will take your Windows defaults, which limits permissions to folders within the 'Program Files' folder, even for users who have admin rights!
It might look like you have installed things but having a 'Compatibility Files...' link in the Plugins folder's Windows Explorer window is a sign of this and a VirtualStore where Windows has protected you from yourself [many would say over zealously!].
Fix your permissions [you'll need Admin rights] by selecting the Plugins folder icon and right-click > context-menu > Properties > Security > Edit... and give everyone listed FULL permissions.
From now on installing plugins files/subfolders etc in v2013 should be less traumatic! -
Thanks TIG,
I am running OSX, the plugin was download from the 1001 bit site as I have just upgraded to v2 so I didn't copy it from SU8. When the activate dialog box opens the activate button does not do anything in SU2013 but when I copied the same install files to SU8 the activation button works.
I have solved the problem by copying the activated 1001 bit files from SU8 to SU2013 and it now works.
Now all I need is the Maxwell plugin to be updated....

Please complete your User-Profile...
On a MAC you also need to ensure that you have FULL read/write permissions to you Plugins folder [that's the 'HD' one NOT 'user' one].
Do you?
If not, then fix them... This has been covered in other threads... -

Thanks for that Dave.
Just back from dodging raindrops in the New Forest. I will sort this out, many thanks for your response.
Best regards.
