[Plugin] Helix along curve
-
Fantastic plugin. Thanks.
-
A very nice and useful plugin.
However, I have a question. Is there any way to change the orientation of the tube, as with the plugin "FollowMe and keep"?
-
hi, for the moment the plugin does not have this option, I'm thinking of including this in an upcoming update, for now you can use "Helix along curve" composite with "FollowMe and keep"

Hi 3dalbertsoft,
Thank you very much for this great plugin!
On a related issue, I am desperately trying to find a way to model, in SU, a conical helix where the helix maintains a constant and specific pitch angle to the conical surface. It is also known as a conical log spiral. Can anyone help me?
The helix I am describing would have the coils get closer together as they approach the apex of the cone. Here is an example:

Hi all,
Please could somebody tell me how to install that plugin step by step ? Because it doesn't work for me. I install it but there is an error message when I open Sketchup. I use Google Sketchup 8 in French on Windows 8.
Thank you guys
Cerboney

What's the error message?
-
How have you 'installed it' ?
What are the errors?
I suspect they relate to missing files ??
This plugin's archive [ZIP file] looks like the attached image.
Copy those two items into the Plugins folder, keeping the contents in the same relationship.
That is one .rb file and the plugins's subfolder [containing other code files, images etc].
You need FULL read/write security permissions to the main Plugins folder...
['Compatibility Files' issues and the 'VirtualStore' beckon otherwise ]
Also set SketchUp.exe to 'Always Runs as Administrator'...
There are may posts covering these aspects in great detail...

Hi thank you TIG for your help, it works thanks to your explanations. I think I copied only the .rb file in the folder "Plugins" of Sketchup.
Bye
