[Plugin] Reverse_back_face_v1.9 102910
-
Does this plug makes also a reorient faces when these are not all in the same side in a same object?
-
No, it only reverses the back face of surfaces facing the camera.
-
This plugin, unfortunately, doesn't appear to work on my Mac. Can anyone else equipped a Mac, repeat?
A real shame, because I am suffering from flipped normal overload.

Oh thanks Rich! You're a star!

Hi honoluludesktop
Thanks for this plugin, it works fine
I just miss a icon on the button
-
Sorry, wrong icon. Correct icons here. Because I am constantly working on the program, I made a mistake about which version, and its required support file is currently posted.
-
Oops. Post deleted, see below.
-
Now it is fine!! Thanks again.
-
installed... thank you.

Update improves user interface, and relocates menus. The application will recall the last selected scanning accuracy factor.
-
Thanks!

Error Loading File reverse_back_face_v1.9.rb
can't convert nil into StringSU8, Mac OS X 10.6

The app. won't even load? Let me download my own file and try to load it.
-
Shoots, it down loads, installs, and runs OK on my PC. I will have to get help before I can find out what the problem is with running the code on a Mac. Just to make sure, can you verify that the plugin will not even load? If it loads then fails to run, can you open the Ruby Console, run the app, and post any error message? If message too long, the top 5-6 lines should be enough.

OK, fixed here, thanks to jim.

thanks

Sorry, I just downloaded and still get the error message on Mac OSX 10.6 SU8 Pro.
I have been trying to sort faces on welded follow me elements. Half the faces are backwards. Orient faces always flips some wrong ones forward. Front face tool is slow and still doesn't catch them all. These are welded surfaces but each face in the softened shape has to be changed separately. Fortunately most of the rendering so far hasn't mattered for some reason.

does orient faces work properly if you turn on hidden geometry first?
it did in v7 on a mac...

Yes it does work better, but I still have other nearby faces flipping backwards for no apparent reason. I think there is just a lot of geometry on this molding (yep, more than necessary but it looks nice in the detail renderings, which was my main goal). I think in this case I need to separate more of the geometry, then these routines should work better.
