can you add, pushpull for multiple faces?
that would be great indeed. but I think a modifier key is unnecessary. simply apply the tool to more than one faces, if they have been pre-selected...

I had occasion to use it a few times today and found it quite handy. As a matter of chance, I was grateful for the lingering edges as they made it easier to make progressive pulls in which intermediate sections could be readily deleted, as desired. Face colors did not track the original, which would have been preferred, and as, no doubt, you are aware.
Thanks much for sharing.

Thanks a lot for this plugin !! Keep going !

thanks to all for leaving nice comments!
I read all suggestions and will definitely try to develop this plugin further. Please be patient...

spp.skpRe thomthom's problem, this can never be solved, as the corner causing the problem has 4 edges/faces not three, so the program does not know which edge/face should be top priority. Only happens if lines meet at corner, as even a couple of pixels on one edge/face is enough to ascertain direction.
Hopefully the file returned altered will point this out better, one item prioritises the green face, the other the red. When the green is used, as seems to be happening when I tried it, you need to physically add a line to complete the edges/faces as shown in the blue faces in the diagram.
Hope this helps clear this up.Trev. (total newbie)

By the way, forgot to say thanks for this great plugin, a4chitect.

that's realy cool
thanks a lot -
thank you for your application!

Use it and it's very brilliant
but a little remarkyou call it "Smart Push Pull" but seems it's only "Smart Pull" or I miss something?
-
well spottet, Pilou
-
is it possible to not leave internal faces with this plug??
-
I finally got around to use this plugin. Very nice.
Are you still developing it?I noticed a couple of things:
- It does not draw the input points
- It does not invalidate the view when the tool is activated
-
I love this script. It is perfect for roofs. I was wondering if there was anyway to enable it to "Snap" to a reference point. I have CAD drawings that I would like the extrusion to snap to.

indeed, a4chitect. do you intend to do some further work on this plugin?
-
woww. thanx mate.... really smart (you and the plugin, both )
-
This is just what I needed for a project where almost nothing is orthogonal.
Just like anyone else, I am wondering if this plugin will be developed any further? I am also convinced that this could become the standard pushpull for plugin people, but it still needs a lot of work.
- It leaves lines at the original position, which you have to delete manually.
- I would prefer the inferencing should to be the same as SU default PP behaviour
- integration with JPP would be great (and be perfectly in line with the concept of this plugin)
a4chitect has not been active here for half a year.. Maybe Fredo6 can incorporate SmartPushpull in JPP? Or are there other options for collaboration?
This plugin to me is one of the most promising and SU like plugins around. It makes a common problem a lot simpler to solve without adding complexity on another level. It's just a shame that the implementation is not up to the promises... -
I will not claim that the FBI is extracting ideas from inside my mind. But I had infact developed a similar push pull tool some years back, but with a more native feel to it. Actually I also called it Smart Push Pull. It does not leave traces and it is completely fluid in operation. However it has some problems with antiprismatic prismatoids (OK, it sounds really scientific, but we make these shapes really often), and so I decided not to upload it to rubits. I have however looked at the script again recently, and I also have a few extra tricks up the sleeve that I think could improve the Push Pull tool, so I might release a version of it soon. I will tell you if I do get around to it.
