Thanks Oli!

Thanks for sharing,It's so cool!!!

I know what to do for this type of configuration, but this is not at all a trivial change. So it is on my (big) list of things to do.
In the mean time, I would follow the 'manual' way, as you describe.Fredo

thank you

Hi,
first of all, great plugin
but i was wondering wheter it would be possible to precise the corner that needs to be rounded by giving in the radius (similar to the 'fillet' tool in autocad?)kind regards,
thomas

[b]RoundCorner performs the rounding of the edges and corners of 3D shapes along a 2D profile, in 3 modes: Round corners, Sharp corners and Bevel.
............Hi Fredo6 !
This ruby made a strong impression on me ! It's very very very useful !
I have a small idea, could you resolve it ?
Many thanks !
This is a good idea. Actually, I should make the lateral edges the same property as the bordering edges. Will do it in a next upgrade.

Do you have any illustration of this function or link of the Autocad fillet so that I see if this can be added?

Hi Fredo,
I attached two drawings; one 2D in autocad using the fillet tool (which is the same as drawing a circle so that it is tangent on both sides and the other is a test in sketchup of the 2D using the roundcorner tool.
when the corner that needs to be rounded is a 90Β° corner there is no difference but when the corner is not at 90Β° autocad (with circle tangent to both sides) does not match with the roundcorner tool.
I only asked this because i wondered whether next to the original way you designed the tool it would be possible to have an option to give in the Radius instead of distance as it is now. I use a lot of autocad drawins as an underlay for my sketchup models and saw that it did not match but maybe i overlooked something or am completely wrong here.
i hope this illustrates what i mean?
kind regards,
thomas

I must be missing a step. I have LibFredo6 3.4 downloaded and extracted, but I do not see the Fredo menu item under Sketchup/Windows. Similarly downloaded and extracted Roundcorner v2.1c. Still nothing in Sketchup.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi Fredo,
First of all Thanks! for this plugin. Works very nicely on the mobile CAD workstation at Work (2.9 Ghz Core2Duo).
However after installing it on my iMac (2.4 Ghz Core2Duo 4GB of RAM), when using it, it reacts extremely slow (Sketchup 7.1) to the point of being unusable. It does create the geometry but, again, when clicking on any of the plugin's UI elements it takes several seconds to result in a response.
Any ideas what the reasons may be for it ?

Is it specific to a model, or do you get the same slow behavior even with an empty model (say just a cube)?
When you mouse over the buttons (not clicking), do you see the buttons react (i.e. highlight) ?

Fredo,
I get the sluggish behavior even with a simple cube. I see the buttons respond but have to be very slow with the mouse. I also see the Spinning Ball quite often.
I came across a thread here a Sketchucation and it appears this may be a Sketchup 7.1 Mac only problem as several users have complained about the generally sluggish behavior of Sketchup 7. I tested Roundcorner with Sketchup 7.1 in VMware Fusion on my iMac on a Win Vista installation and it works fine.
I hope Google fixes this Mac related Sketchup performance problem soon!
I own a Indigo license (http://www.indigorenderer.com) and the SkIndigo exporter, another Sketchup plugin, works fine on my iMac.

may i know how and where to download the file?

1st post of this thread has the download and documentation

Any other Mac users with this performance problem?
Headroom (Peter): do you have the same problem with other plugins, like FredoScale or ToolsOnSurface?

Fredo,
I just downloaded Joint Push-Pull and Tools on Surface and both are very responsive (in OSX) and I don't experience the sluggishness I encounter when working with RoundCorner.
BTW. What awesome tools you have created here. Until now my main workhorse has been Blender (http://www.blender.org). Now with Sketchup and these powerful plugins that you have created I have another powerful tool.
Thanks!!!

Hi Fredo,
Good Evening and a huge thank you for the round edge plugin.....indeed it is a very useful excellent tool.
