[Plugin] Zorro2 (beta)
-
I am trying to install this in a Mac with the SU 2014 version. I am not certain where/how to install the file i downloaded "Zorro2_v2.0_beta.rbz".
I have read all the responses and I still can't seem to get it to work.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

If you have downloaded the RBZ file, go to the SketchUp menu, click on Preferences>Extensions and then the Install Extension button. Navigate to where you saved the file, select it and click on Open. Then click on all the affirmative responses. Close the Preferences window. Done.
You really ought to get the Sketchucation Plugin Store tool and use it to auto-install plugins.

Awesome tool! Thank You.

Any plans to update this? Or suggestions for other ways to get this slice model at section functionality? Can't get it to work with Sketchup 2015 (on mac)

I have tried to download this plugin (inserted the Zorro2.rb into my system files: Program Files (x86)_Google_Google SketchUp 8_Plugins) without any luck. After I have uploaded it into my program files I should expect to see "Zorro" show up in my Sketchup "Tools," however, it does not show up? Any suggestions?
I have tried to reboot sketchup and my computer. I don't know what else I can do.Thanks for any and all help.

Where did you get the file you downloaded? The one that is available here on SCF comes as an rbz file, not rb. Do not put rbz files into the Plugins folder. After downloading the rbz file, open SketchUp and go to Window>Preferences>Extensions. Click on Install Extensions... Navigate to the location where you saved the file, select it and click on the affirmative answers.
Better, install the Sketchucation Plugin Store plugin that way and use it to automatically install the plugin.

Hi,
What version of SketchUp are you using? -
i was depressed before i know this plugin! i already installed sectioncutfaces but there's no option for slice the model. i'm stuck and you really made my day!! Thankyou so much!
-
fabulous, thank you
-
where can i download this great program?
-
Search the SketchUcation PluginStore - linked in the menu above...
-
ya descargue el zorro, pero ahora no se como lo encuentro en google sketcUp
-
It's in 'Tools'...
Have you read the PDF manual?
EstΓ‘ en 'Herramientas' ...

Hi, I have downloaded and installed plugin as said at the first page. Works 100% (W7, SU2016pro). I would like to thank you for great saving of time
Also if there will be some day an update, really helpful would be if plugin can also cuts only visible groups ... now I have to copy and move away from entire model what I want to cut and put it back when done. If I just turn off the layers, for example walls, terrain, windows, etc. and I can "play" only with roof tiles with no need to copy something... itΒ΄s just an opinion
It is and very useful plugin!
Cheers mate -
Zorro2 cuts objects in the model's active_entities context, it also cuts into any nested components/groups in that context is the option is chosen
So to cut only part of your model make a temporary group of the objects you wish to cut.
Edit that group and use Zorro2 within that edit's entities context.
Now anything outside of the group remains unchanged.
Explode the group when you are done - if desired...In the attached image I cut a component [which is just a specialized kind of group] and deleted the bottom part - note how outside of the context nothing is affected...

First page of this thread:
Then:
It's even better if you install the Sketchucation Plugin Store tool and use it to install Zorro2 and other extensions.

That is so kind of you to say! You are most welcome. Perhaps it is time to take this Project out of beta...
