Another Machinist's Model of a Steam Engine.

All day. -
@Dave-R Great job. Like the paint job.

-
Thank you gentlemen.
-
Not a steam engine this time. Instead this is a machinist's model of a shaper. The top part reciprocates forward and back pushing a cutter over the work clamped in the vise. As the machine cycles the table with the vise on it increments to the side after each stroke.

@Dave-R super slick modeling as is your usual. Curious what is the vintage of this mechanical marvel ?

-
@tuna1957 Thank you. Shapers were fairly common in the late 1800s and early 1900s. There are still some in use today, though.
-
Top notch modeling!
-
I concur with the sentiments ^. Cracking.
-
Thank you gentlemen.

You probably won't believe it but here's another little steam engine. This is a 2-cylinder engine driving a duplex water pump.

-
Very compact mechanical marvel there. Pukka.
-
If you hadn't mention what it was I would've guessed it was this...

At least I now know what it is you are building!
-
A twin cylinder steam powered donut delievery device? That would be cool.
In the meantime here's an idler sprocket for #40 roller chain.

-
Top notch work!
-
They always are mate.
-
Thank you!.
Here's an animation I did as an experiment with scenes, native materials, and Vray.

What happens when you push the button?

Another Kipling, I wonder if a little flag pops up with the word 'Bang' on it?
