Thanks L i am, but I want try and make a beach scene work first. But it looks like this scene is too ambitious and I may just have to settle for a sandbar in shallow water. It's killing even my new laptop.

That said, I'll be glad to send you the boat model! Let me know how and I'll send it. 👍

Yeah, the island is not going to work. It absolutely overwhelms my PC. Or maybe it's because I use an old version of SU. Either way, same result.

Also, something has come up this week so I can't work in it for a few days. Nothing major, but important nonetheless.

I get the feeling that something along the lines of photomatch. A good quality backdrop and some layer methodolgy perhaps. What I know for sure is that there is a way and it will be found.

Good luck with the something mate, best to you and yours.

Agree with Mike on this one. Have the boat anchored a little offshore. Use a good “looking” towards the beach as a background. Some post processing to get things matched up right. Just a thought 👍

Thanks Mike! Thanks Tuna! Good suggestions. I've been fiddling with this when I have time and it's not quite gelling.

It's been a while since I had this much trouble setting up a render.

Take your time Bryan. These water, beach scenes are quite challenging for us mortals. 😉 👍

Dead end on this scene. Still can't handle lots of vegetation.
