                To keep model light I excluded many of the mechanics that allow the sliding/folding action. But its a really nice design.

                I imagine the majority of the cost is the hardware. These chairs are typically above $200.

                Although Ikea likely have a 'version' 😐

                      "simple" is something designers aspire too. Designers often say between themselves "nobody understands how much complex work is is to make something look simple"

                          Yes, WrapR for the UVs and Painter for textures. I did a SUbD version with lots of polys to get a nice normal map bake to use on the lo-poly mesh.
