SubD examples and models

Prima! - both models above are excellent
-
No modeling update for the F2004 model itself, but i modeled the first enviroment to test.
I used for the track QFT VT and SD (along with Oob terrain, flowify, profile builder 3 and thrupaint). This is a render test.
This is a screenshot of the actual track model.
See you next weekend for the updates on this quarantine project.
Take care. -
Very cool HornOxx! Reminds me of my favorite toy, actually a small plastic version I had at a young age.
Panixia that looks like THE way to build a road! Slick! I wish I could see the video. It is "private".

thanks Pbacot - yes, I also had a favourite toy car which was a very detailed Landrover with a flywheel(?) motor which sounded like an old diesel when you pushed it slowly over "heavy" terrain -
Expanding my βBobby-Carβ Project
some little Corona-Time practice - finally time again for expanding my old beloved long term βBobby-Carβ project, launched in January 2018 this time with an US-American version. Enjoy
[entirely done with SkUp 2017 Make and SubD plugin, all renderings made with Shaderlight]https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/a8dc73ea-85cb-4560-96a1-ade7a6d4cdfc/US-Bobby-Car

Wow - some really great work being produced!

Yeah, Thomas. SubD really raised the bar!

... just add a little animation test to my previous US Bobby Car post above

Looks really good @HornOxx!

A simple kitchen sink sketchup and subd render with Thea render , still learn how to use a good topology
-
a very good topology .... bravo

Some random updates from the Ferrari F2004 project.
Here you have some WIP of the details from steering wheels and a first attempt to the helmet texturing.
I'm pretty happy with the steering wheel, but not so much with the helmet.
Still a lot to learn about decal texturing in Substance.Done in SketchUp Pro 2020 using Quadface Tools, Vertex Tools, SUbD, Joint Push Pull, Wrap-r.
Texturing done in Substance Painter 2020 (in progress) -
again Bender! trying to make the best out of the quarantine period
edit #4 / 4-30-2020 - Corona Virus Time
[SkUp 2017 Make, SubD, Vertex- and QuadFace Tools + Enscape]
[chair, beer can and cushin are taken from the 3D Warehouse]

Wonderful.. you should rig it and do a little animation!
-
Soap then SubD
-
Here's a little something I doodled across today that I wasn't aware of.
SUbD will create a cutting plane on normal geometry, so technically you don't need to SUbD everything.
See in the gif, first hit of SUbD basically destroys the face because it isn't quads, but make the parts you want, with the correct topology, into groups and they will blend with the normal geometry. And explode if you need a solid, but you lose the SUbD properties.

very handy, thank you!

The challenge of personal mastery. Itβs brand new to me and I think itβs pretty hard to make a head so Iβll do it in the end. The result will be posted here soon
