I understand. There is something wrong in the vertex matching, also in the Loft by Spline tool. I'll need to have a closer look.

        Dear Fredo,
Hello, I kindly reach you to suggest some feature for the future update of Curviloft plugin.

        1. I wonder to know why Curviloft doesn't create a surface when we have an Integrated curve. In fact, I always use the Soap Skin Bubble plugin in order to deal with this type of shape and unfortunately I have a problem to push surface properly. Would you mind any possibility to add this feature of Soap Skin Bubble plugin to the next version of Curviloft concerning to create the surface for all type of connected line and curve?
          Curviloft

        2. Furthermore, this is the FormZ software. I wonder to know, Is there any possibility to change the type of surface and also how it is pushed and pulled in the Curviloft with some icon in order to increase or decrease it like FormZ software? (I know that there is some option in the spline method)
          Curviloft-Formz

        Sincerely
        Hamidreza

Well, there is space for several methods.

Curviloft does not use the same approach as Soap Skin & Bubble. When you have a continuous contour, you need to tell Curviloft where to break it in 3 or 4 pieces. You can use small segments for this, that is small standalone edges which you position along the contour.

For FormZ feature, this is also a different approach, based on Nurbs. The closest I see for this type of feature is Vertex Tools by Thomthom.

            Hi there,

I got so excited when I can accross this plugin, but sadly Curviloft is not working at all at the moment.
I have recently downloaded it - so it's a first time application.

Successfully installed LibFredo6 Version 8.9a and Curviloft 1.8a in SketchUp 2018. I can also load the CL toolset, but sadly it is not doing anything when clicking on the icons and following instructions.

            Am I missing something?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Most likely. Upload your model so we can see what you are working with.

Just in case, could you open the Ruby Console to see if there are errors displaying.

                  Hello,

I have noticed a strange behavior when I use "Loft by Spline" With half circles, it is only works if I choose 3 arcs, is it a normal behavior?

There is a bug with this kind of coplanar configuration, for some types of junction.

In your case, just make sure that the junction type is the 'straight line', as shown below:

                    Bug arc coplanar.png

I'll fix the bug later on.

Your screenshot doesn't show. You can't just post a link to a file on your computer. Use the Upload Attachment tab below the message window area in your reply.

There's no need to open the downloaded file. In SketchUp, go to Window>Extension Manager and click on Install Extension (the red button at the lower left corner of the panel. Navigate to where the downloaded file was saved, select it and click Open.

A better thing to do is install the Sketchucation Tools extension, available under Resources, above, and use it to search for and install extensions from Sketchucation. It will install them without in one step so you don't have to download them and then install them via Extension Manager. It'll also remember the extensions you install with it so you can easily and quickly check for updates and install them. It'll also create a bundle of extensions that you can later use to automatically install the extensions either on a different computer or when you update to the next version of SKetchUp.

Good afternoon. I have a problem with Curviloft and Curvizard plugins.
Perhaps the problem arose after updating LibFredo6.
Reinstalling the plugins did not help.
Delivered an earlier version of LibFredo6, the problem is not fixed.

I have to admit, I didn' read through all posts in this thread.

Has it already been requested to have an "Upright Extrusion" option for the "Loft along Path" tool?

There are plugins out there that can do an upright follow-me operation. But none of them (as far as I know) can morph between two profiles along the way.

Therefore it would be awesome to have this functionality.

                                Hey Fredo,

I recently started using curviloft and it worked absolutely great for everything i ever did with it until now...

I'm trying to make a glass rounded swimming pool but for some reason, some edges start moving and others not.

I tried using the move tool to put the edges back where they should be but that ceated a curve that I dont want.

I wish you a great day.

Is there way to govern smoothing angle upon loft creation (inside the plugin)?
Out of the box I got too over-smoothed surface
                                  Thanks

Pilou, I don't mean segmentation, I'm talking about surface smoothing (normals)

The upper variant (on the attached picture) made with Soften dialog. My humble request is to get this result automatically (like profile builder does) without manual polishing afterwards.

Turn "Show Hidden Geometry" on. Then using the "shift+Ctrl+erase tool" select the lines you want unsmoothed and unsoftened. You can play with combinations to get smooth unsoft or soft unsmoothed lines and that will take care of your over smoothed surfaces.

Then turn show hidden geometry off.

You can also select any line(s) and change the smooth or soft or hidden attribute in Entity Info.
