What do you mean "were into Lego"?

Agreed, no need to stop enjoying. I stand corrected. I remember the sound operated module that would turn on and off the 4WD motor and the little bricks with light would fascinate me.

I remember Erector sets, Lincoln logs, Tinker Toys and the small bricks. I also had A wind up train and an electric train.

Yes, that was in the 40's and 50's. 😎

So cool mate thank you for pointing that out. I will have a play when I can. I wonder if leggo would be interested in employing a plugin designer to design a leggo plugin for sketchup. (not me i would am not capable) just a thought bubble.

                      Like Tuna and Valmont,

Lincoln Logs, Erector Sets, chemistry set's that included radioactive stuff, lead soldier casting stuff, and a few pounds of mercury to boot.

Oh yeah, those were the days!

Damn! I had totally forgotten about radioactive materials and playing with mercury. A few years ago my brother reminded me that I made nitroglycerin in classβ€”nowadays I would have been arrested for terrorism. It's a surprise we lived through it all…

Reading previous replies reminded me that I had Tinker Toys as well.

                      Cheers,
                      Ralph

Love lego still. The newer stuff for kids is not as simple with lots of bespoke parts that are one-use items.

But there's a lego equivalent for Architects that has 3 models on the Warehouse.

I was joking. I was lucky enough to get a sort of Lincoln Log house that didn't fall down after the 3rd stick. Comme Ca! (Aimez-vous Asterix et Cleopatre?)

                                    LMAO, that too!

I had a "Pyrotechnics" manual I ordered from Popular Science ads (along with the recipe for contact explosives and waterproof fuse). I ordered many pounds of potassium perchlorate to make flash powder. At the time aluminum powder was available at the local paint store and sulfur almost anywhere. My friends and I made all of our own fireworks. Some more dangerous than others.

I guess we were lucky. In retrospect, filling CO2 cartridges with flash powder might have had a downside.

Tried nitro once, but using the old sulfuric acid from a fire extinguisher didn't seem to do the trick.

And yes, if I were to order any of those things today, I'm sure homeland security would be knocking on my door!
