A little Sunday SketchUp practice. Based on a clock from about 1932. It's a bit different from the furniture I usually draw. At a little over 6 inches tall, the case and knobs are all drawn to be 3D-printable. Rendered in Kerkythea.

This shows the mesh. I did this partly because a guy on another forum insisted that this kind of stuff can't be done in SketchUp. I guess if he's right, I must be doing it wrong. πŸ˜„

Yes. Right out of Kerkythea. We'll, I did crop the image a bit.

"Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things." "I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Thanks for the nice comments. I think the dark brown bakelite hides a host of sins. πŸ˜‰

Here's an ivory version of it. They were made in this color, too.

No. I didn't want him to admit defeat, though. I just wanted him to see that this sort of stuff is indeed possible. He's declared SketchUp a failure because he can't manage it. And there are many examples of models even much more complex than this one that others have made. Reminds me of the old adage, "It's a poor craftsman who blames his tools."

FWIW, I only used two extensions for this clock. Fredo6's Bezier Spline and his Round Corner. Both of these should be the first extensions people install.

Nice model and great renders Dave. Very cool in both colours, though I think I like the ivory version best.
