Soooo, if you couldn't/didn't go to basecamp, just switch to another renderer, cause you don't deserve to know anything? Is that ChaosGroup's message to users?

It's available for anyone to try. It's still in beta, so definitely a few kinks in there.

Does anyone know how much it is to upgrade from an old version (I think 2, 2009) to the new 3.5?
I emailed them but havent got a reply. -

I emailed them but havent got a reply. You could check with your reseller (Many web-pages have upgrade info up now, for example: http://trinity3d.com/vray-sketchup-plugin/).
Also, note that it's 3.0, not 3.5 (Yes, it's half a version behind.)
Also, just a note about an earlier post - you will need to rebuild your vray library if you are going to Vray for Sketchup 3.0 right now, since most old vray materials do not convert.
-
Thanks Andy, I will have to dig out my old invoice to see exactly which version I do have currently.
-
OK, so I finally got an email back about upgrading which I'm entitled to do thankfully for the reduced price. But I am required to send them some code from my Vray dongle in order to reprogram it. The downside is I don't even have a dongle?!
Does anyone else that is using Vray for Sketchup get a dongle when they purchased it?
I sent an email back to them notifying them of this but have got no reply. -
If you have 2.0 you should have a dongle. That was their only licensing system. How were you running 2.0 without one?

I bought Vray back in 2009 so no dongle. Looks like I cant upgrade then, what a weird system.

Just to round this up, had a different reseller email me just now confirming that I cannot upgrade from v1.49 due to the dongle. Bit angry that my usual reseller nearly duped me into spending $250 for something I wouldn't have been able to use!
