Add Visual Effect?
-
Fredo,
How do you use the Visual Effect > Rendering Style?
Is it meant to control applied styles? I can't get it to do anything regards styles.
-
When you are in the Editor, change the style in Sketchup (or select a scene which has the style you wish) and then press Capture Rendering.
When playing the clip, the rendering styles are interpolated (like cameras), unless you disable their fade out.
By the way, same principle for Shadows.

I don't get that occuring.
There's no change in Styles.
I apply a style. Add a Visual Effect, set it to Control Rendering Style, Duration .5s and Capture.
Insert new Visual Style at 0.5s and apply a new In Model Style and capture. But I don't see a style change.when I play.

Rich/Fredo,
I tried this and am seeing the same thing as Rich.
- I created 2 scenes with different styles.
- Clicked on Scene 1 at 0s
- Clicked to capture the rendering (Rendering Style_1)
- Clicked on Scene 2
- Clicked to capture the rendering (Rendering Style_4)
- Changed the time to 2s
- Clicked to return the player to the starting point for the clip
- Clicked to play the clip
If I clicked on scene 1 before playing the clip, it used scene 1 style for the entire clip.
If I clicked on scene 2 before playing the clip, it used scene 2 style for the entire clip. I could not find any way to get it to change styles during the clip. -
When we exit temporary from Animator can we use any functions like Paint Tool fo Edit an active group or just some few tools like Tape Measure Tool ?

I have had mixed results. If I click on the Paint Bucket or use the short cut it will let me exit Animator to get to the model. If I try to use it on an object that is not part of my animation or that I draw while I was exited, it works fine. However, if I try to modify and object (say like the car in my demos) it will not let me modify those objects.
Maybe I am doing wrong but I have been able to use any tool unless I am trying to modify an object that I had selected for use in my animation.

You can use any tool.
However, it is not a good idea to change the hierarchy of objects whenever this would impact objects which are already used in the animation.
However, within these objects, you can change the textures.Fredo

For the Visual style, there is a small bug (a typo in my code), sorry. I fixed it and this will go into the next release.

I tried to use the paint brush on my car and the arc piece of equipment and it would let me drill down to a surface to change it. Maybe I did something wrong. It did allow me to draw a new object and paint it without a problem.

Dave,
Thanks for signaling. Actually I need to disable the mechanism preventing to open components and groups.
Note: I have this mechanism, because you could play with the outliner when Animator is active.

OK - I was just checking to see if I was doing something wrong.
Do you stay up all night?

A visual effect by example can be a Blue face at the beginning becomes a Red face at the end of the Animation?

Pilou brings up an interesting question. Is there/will there be a way to change the color/texture of an object?
Once again, I have an interesting thought related to my car wash (isn't it always about my darn car wash). As the car goes through some of the equipment, like the spray or foam equipment, I would like to be able to apply a different texture to the car (like a foam added to the car or changed the color just a little to get the effect of the water, foam, or chemical) and then change it back after the car goes through the dryers/blowers. Or maybe the car comes in with a bunch of mud/dirt on it and gets "cleaned". Just a thought
Careful hear beta team, we are headed toward a full move/gaming engine.
