    Hi.

Does anybody know if it's possible to use Normal maps in VRay for SketchUp? It's easy to donwload materials that come with a Normal Map, but VRayForSketchUp doesn't have a specific slot for this type of image. As it's a variation of the bump map, will it work if it's applied in the Bump Slot? Did anybody tried this?

    Thanks!

Well, so that's great. I'll try it in a few models.

          Thanks!

VfSU doesn't make use of Normal maps. You can load it into the bump map slot - but it won't treat it as a proper normal map.

does the new version of Vray now include normal maps, in order to produce results similar to the attached pic?

Unfortunately, we were not trying to add more complexity to the rewrite of our plugin, so normal map support was not added.

                  bump
                  normal map (Tangent space)
                  normal map (Object space)
                  normal map (Camera space)
                  normal map (World space)
                  bump map (Local space)
                  Explicit normals

                  WHAT DOES IT MEEEEAAAN?

Normal maps are now in the current version of VR4SU. It's been in there since 1.6 I beleive.

There is a little bit of info here about some the object spaces.

                      Greetings,

Is there any possibility to add bum, normal map (edit difuse) to vrmesh materials in SU?
I have got some vrmesh component in SU and I would like to add some visual value to them.

                      Thank you in advance.

                      PS
Or should I adjust all material setting to a component before converting it into vrmesh?
