A study for something else I mocked up using Thea, Fotosketcher and Photoshop.

    Fun app, Fotosketcher.

          Thanks, Rich and Oliver.

Vray Dirt test, done as research for same project.

Some serious tension right there! Texture is very convincing indeed. Any insight into what the project was?

Oliver, it's just a personal project. I want to do a series of large renders of mid-century and brutalist buildings (or better: scale models of said buildings) in a studio environment. My aim is to make them as realistic as I can, so I am now experimenting with different shader types, dirt, mapping, making custom maps and whatnot. πŸ˜„

I am also acquiring a decent screen and printer calibration set, as I'd like to get this series of images printed when finished.

                      Quietly doodling along.

This is turning into a WIP thread. Should any of the mods feel it ought to be moved to the WIP section, please go ahead.

Don't worry, I think it belongs to gallery. Nice work.πŸ‘
Judging from the first picture I would say that you must be a fan of Sironi & Terragni. πŸ˜‰

I'd not heard of Sironi before, I must admit. I am, however, a fan of De Chirico's. (Though not of his later work. 😎 )

Really? You will love his work. 😎
Agree about De Chirico's later work.

                                Thanks, Jeff.

This is another test -no global illumination. I like the previous one better, but this one rendered roughly 50% faster. Which is kinda interesting.

Doodling ... I wonder, can anyone guess which renderer I used? (Trying to determine whether this is going in the direction I'd like.)

I think I'll go with Indigo Renderer!
