 Thanks, Richard.

Quietly doodling along. This is turning into a WIP thread. Should any of the mods feel it ought to be moved to the WIP section, please go ahead.

Judging from the first picture I would say that you must be a fan of Sironi & Terragni.

I'd not heard of Sironi before, I must admit. I am, however, a fan of De Chirico's. (Though not of his later work. ) )

Agree about De Chirico's later work.

 looking good
 !

Thanks, Jeff. This is another test -no global illumination. I like the previous one better, but this one rendered roughly 50% faster. Which is kinda interesting.

 This is erm ... something.

 Great stuff Tom!

Thanks, Tina. Doodling ... I wonder, can anyone guess which renderer I used? (Trying to determine whether this is going in the direction I'd like.)

-
I think I'll go with Indigo Renderer!
-
 Podium?
-
@ Filippo: Wrong, but thanks. I must be doing something right.
@ Tina: No -I'd have a hard time pulling this off with Podium, I think. It's weird how you chose apps from the opposite ends of the rendering spectrum.
-
 Thea or POV-Ray

Thanks, Oliver. And ... you're wrong. It's Modo. I guess I've reached a point where I can make any renderer looks as crap as any other. Presto ... hmm, let's see how 1.3 handles this.
-
The renderer doesn't matter, as long as people can't immediately identify what it is then I believe you've hit your goal. It's just what's best for you in terms of render speed and setup speed. If it's a two click operation then even better, but rare of course! Yeah the new thea is supposed to be a massive improvement but I've not had any time to play with it. I need a new computer too, seems mobile phones are more powerful than my mac now!!

@olishea said: The renderer doesn't matter, as long as people can't immediately identify what it is then I believe you've hit your goal. Yup. As for speed, setup etc: Modo isn't the fastest in either respect (although it isn't slow either), BUT: its renderer is very flexible, and then there's the added bonus of sub-ds, psubs, texture painting etc. @olishea said: I need a new computer too, seems mobile phones are more powerful than my mac now!! I take it upgrading parts isn't an option? I tried doing that with my old Mac Pro some time back. Long story short: couldn't get the parts. I bought a PC instead. Mac: nay! PC: yay!
