Generate Faces?
-
I am sure you have already keyword searched? It sounds so familiar. Perhaps skin.rb? Or early extrude edges by edges?
-
I think it's one of Fredo's plugins.
I just installed JPP and TOS - the menu item was suddenly back then. -
it's Tools on Surface
i'm assuming it's in the context menu because tos has a toggle switch to turn on/off generation of faces.. maybe if you have it turned to off but require a face at some point in the drawing?

Do you mean http://www.smustard.com/script/MakeFaces ?
Nope - it was Tools on Surface.

Which plugin adds the "Generate Faces" context-menu item?
It is Tools on Surface.
Basically, it generates all connected faces from the selected edge.I added it, because sometimes OffSetOnSurface misses some face generation.
Likewise, there may be a contextual menu about "Repair small triangular faces", here too because Sketchup inability to create very small faces. As Jeff indicated, you can remove these menu entries in the Default Parameters dialog box for TOS (scroll down at the very end).

Tom,
Just perfrom a few offset on surface on airregular surfaces, and you'll see what I am talking about (actually, the script does itself a repair automatically).
Or you can just create a model with small empty triangles to test it.Fredo

Sorry to bring the thread back alive, but is there a way to make a shortcut for the Generate Faces context menu item!?
Sadly, it doesn't show on SU's preferences window.
-
It does when you have entities selected

Excellent tip. Worked perfectly!
Many thanks!
