800+ plugins now = 1 click ;)

The next version allows you to search so you'll be able to find that exact tool for any job
I'll wing to you now
-
I'm glad see this, great job but do you have to be in trust to get it, also a little while ago on the plugins page some strange graphics.

it'll be released soon I just needed some Mac, Linux, Windows testers

Great idea! Will there be some sort of update tracker or auto-updater?
-
-
This looks amazing Rich! Great work! Willing to Beta test if you guys need
-
That's great. What would be even better would be to be able to sort plugins by number of downloads. To see what are the most popular plugins.

It would really be useful if you could also remove/delete plugins. It is not always obvious which folder/rb/toolbar combination goes together.

Bob
A 'SketchUcation Extensions[Check/Uncheck], Toolbar[Activate/Deactivate] & Plugins[Enable/Disable] Manager' could well be 'on the to do list'...
BUT it is a loooong list
Let's get this 'SketchUcation Plugin Store' up and running first [before we can crawl, to mix-up metaphors ]
just watch this space... -
We've all seen the videos, but there are some magicians on this site, so, how do we know these vids aren't just trickery, designed to get us all hot and bothered with anticipation only to be let down by something limp and unsatisfying!
Well let me tell you!
The big red U gods have stretched out their hand and given me a copy to test.
My feelings in a word: Brilliant
It is simple to use, easy to read and to the point.
It is a nice way to browse and click and browse and click, as in you can click to visit the thread or auto install and then you are straight back where you were. Not like jumping from thread to thread or that awful 3D whorehouse that keeps closing on you.
The search works, oh how nice it is to say those three words together. So often web based searches are crap, this will even search for 3 letter words.I must say I'm hard pressed to find anything I don't like about it.
It's an excellent tool, one that will become part of the furniture very quickly.
I can see it now, if it ever breaks everyone will be lost.
Roll on release day. -
The best is yet to come

Wow, what timing. I just "migrated" to a new computer and of all things that seem to have not come across-- I think I have to reload a lot of my plugins. I might as well rebuild the whole folder. This is really great! Why is it free?

So some restrictive!
Pilou, it uses the new SU8 (M2) feature to install rbz files. Of course, as a browser, it should work in some older versions too (at least in ones that use webdialogs) and you can use its feature to download the plugin - but then it'll still be an rbz so you'll need to rename it to zip, unpack and then install it (just as you do now)

I must have installed 20+ plugins since using this sketchucation plugin!
You can download and install 10 plugins in the time it normally takes to install one.
And of course, you do not have to restart SU either - the plugins are loaded instantly and dynamically.

... You'll be able to donate directly to authors of scripts...
That is - if a plugin author cares to create a PayPal account at least.
-
Now if it could go to my folder where I keep my plugins purchased from SMustard and other places I could delete all my plugins from my Plugins folder and start over with a fresh and smaller set.
-
How cool is this... Chalked full of Awesomeness.
-
How many plug-ins are needed to do a days work...
Since 2008 I have loaded just over 300 plugins.
Only 7 of them are still on my desktop.
Sorta like the i-Tunes software quality record.
It's just like collecting shiny marbles.
And now a nice case to put them in. -
Exactly.
You should only install and load the plugins you really want...No promises... but future SCF developments might include some tools to manage your plugins - activate/deactivate, load/unload and even uninstall options...
BUT SCF are concentrating today on getting this 'Plugins Store' up and running - to provide members with easy availability and easy installation.
