            It wasn't me either.

Check the logs for an edit at that time.

Having analyzed the Mods' logs I can see no one editing that post - although an Admin might do so with no trace ?
It's just a mystery... I might mistype 'SolidSolver'... but making it something else that is so specific is very very unlikely.
I do have AutoHotkeys AutoCorrect, but looking through the look-up list there's nothing you could type that would end up with that phrase ?

Admin can't do what you're suggesting.

If you look at the logs, they are full of me also logged so admins actions are also logged.

Confess TIG that it was you and let's get over this little Freudian slip. πŸ˜‰

Ahh... but perhaps Admins can also 'edit' these logs [unlike mere Mods] so their footprints could be erased if they so desired... I do not know these things...

But I am not 'accusing' anyone of anything [although this IS a very 'Rich-like' trick].

I just find it all but unbelievable that I would mistype that exact mistake; as a mistype that is a meaningful phrase, but bears little connection to the original meaning or letters is just weird [SolidSolver >>> SolidSilver or SolidsLover maybe, but SolidBananarama is very unlikely πŸ˜• ]

I mistype often and these typos are underlined in red in my FF browser, so that I can spot them and correct them as I go...
Also I have AutoHotkeys' AutoCorrect, which corrects many common typos automatically ['hte' >>> 'the' etc].
So I also suspected something awry there... but I found nothing when examining their lookup-lists either... πŸ˜•

I do suggest that we need to keep an eye open for other similar occurrences - SCF could have been 'hacked' and this is a subtle check to see if it has worked, and/or was spotted?
Or alternatively I just have pre-senile dementia πŸ˜’ - so please kill me now...

                          Hi Everybody!

This looks an absolutely awesome site and no doubt I'll be spending a lot of time here sucking up information (& Plugins!). Recently was involved in creating a small interior design company based in Asia, however we are currently outsourcing all 3-D design work. As I am always one to count the pennies I decided to really jump into things myself. Have used the free Sketchup program for a couple of years just for basic concept and Floor plan stuff (had no idea how good it could be!) and just got the Pro version. Am so so on computers but I'm excited to get to a good skill level so I can show attractive rendering to my Clients.......... but no doubt I'll also now be spending my Friday nights in modelling Optimus Prime as well πŸ˜†

Hi to all from Canada's Capital - Ottawa Ontario. Permit me to introduce myself, BSintzel.

I've come to this forum to share with (and learn from,) other forum members. From what I've experienced so far, this forum includes a 'lot' of good folk that share my belief that there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers. This has been my mantra throughout my career. That said, I look forward to sharing what I know with others, and learning a bit more each day by asking, what some may consider, dumb questions.

My background is somewhat varied, as I've been around for a long time (62 years) and I have enjoyed careers ranging from aircraft and auto mechanic, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Lotus Notes developer, ER Modeler and scientific programmer at Canada's National Research Council (NRC).

My experience with computer-aided modeling has been mostly limited to parametric modeling with 3DS Solidworks. Although intellectually challenging, I found that Solidworks didn't meet my 'rapid/low-cost' modeling needs. Since discovering Sketchup a year ago, I've found that I can achieve most (if not all) of my home design goals without having to endure a steep learning curve, or paying a fortune in software fees.

I've used Sketchup to successfully model my new deck prior to building it. I'm now using Sketchup to to model my new kitchen and living room before I renovate them. That said, I've found myself up to my neck in an organic modeling conundrum that I'm hoping more experienced Sketchup enthusiasts can offer some guidance in solving.

Specifically, I've been modeling a brass & glass end table. All was going well until I tried modeling the table's feet. As shown in the attached photos, they are are truly organic in design. I'm not entirely cerTable foot- side viewTable foot- front viewtain if I can continue forward using Sketchup to model them. If there is anyone who can offer some suggestions on what plugin or technique to use to successfully model these feet, I would be very appreciative.

                            Warm regards

I've taken obfuscating to a whole new level!

I hope to learn all that there is to know when it comes to modelling and, maybe, I'll share some of my creations on here.

                                        Hi,

I have been using sketchup now for 3 years, and have been a committed sketchup forum stalker! Always searching for news and information about my drawing program of choice! The last 12 months have seen my sketchup use increase and there for my need for efficient and particular results have also changed. I can now no longer be a closet sketchup forum stalker! So here I am!

Looking forward to being involved, in order to keep learning, and improving my sketchup and layout skills.

                                        Cheers,

                                        P.
