HELP BIG MODEL
-
Did you use components for the repetitive parts?
-
thankyou cotty for your time…
No i didn't use components…i use groups for the double facade -
Soorry i needd help pleasee..do you know if distributed rendering its a solution?? i can get 2 more macbook pros with v ray thanks
-
Can you share the model? I'll give it a try.

it dosent allow me to upload the model… i send it by mail?? we transfer? -
With Thomthoms selection toys it is possible to convert different copies of groups into component instances (right clikc on one group)... eventually it reduces the filesize to something managable...
I would suggest dropbox or similar to share your model with Solo.

Components will not matter. I think VRay is running out of memory.
I would not use any displacement - its not worth it with a file this big and in a crunch.
Try increasing your dynamic memory limit under options / system. Increase will depend on how much RAM you have. Try 2500 if you have more than 6GB. Also turn off any dialog boxes in SU and set your display to wireframe before clicking render. Also, I would save your file, close it, open it fresh and do these steps before rendering, so it starts clean.
If this doesnt work, render to file using the EXR option. If you are rendering out channel passes, you will need ProEXR and 64 bit Photoshop in order to open the file and see the channels. I like to your Preview mode so you can see progress.
I do not miss finals. Good Luck.

Also, for future renference, if you renders will be from a distance, you would be better off not modeling the grate and use a transparent PNG to cheat it.

Doesn't Vray use instancing for repeated components and reduce memory usage with this?
-
As far as I know, Vray does not use instancing at all. It might save on memory that the model is using, but I am not sure. I honestly think, the best way is going to be to render using the EXR method I explained. It will take all the load of the memory. The issue could be other things though, like a buggy material map or displacement.

i made a exr file …it didn't work…does the distributed render help me? by the way thank you very much
-
Do you have displacement set in materials in your model?
-
No..i only have bumps and crystals…
-
Crystals? As in Caustics???

There was one material with displacement, I unchecked it, doing a cleanup at moment which is taking a long time unfortunately, I will try rendering normally with Vray first if that fails I'll try .exr.
-
I bet the displacement was the killer.

Afraid not, tried cleaning, .exr, etc with no success.
I'd suggest porting out to Max and Vray4Max if possible or using a studio based renderer.

I already solution it … i made scenes and make a different archive for it… i erase what docent see on the scene… i had 180 mb and i reduce to 70 at each scene… know i have a problem rendering with distributed render….jaja thank you very much…aaa also cleanup help me a lot! thanks for your time
