I see that SketchUp changed their web pages yesterday, so I presume the sale must have closed.
Although the old URL's are still active.

On Reddit, John said they would announce something about the basecamp as soon as the purchase is closed .

I don't know what impact it has on the basecamp, but the Trimble FAQ %(#000000)[**[PDF]**] (finally news from Trimble!) says that SketchUp takes part at Trimble Dimensions in the Mirage Hotel, Las Vegas on November 5-7.
