Modeling space frame

I doubt very much that you will find a plugin that simply creates that structure for you. It will require quite a lot of hand editing. Here is an earlier topic on modelling the roof of the British Museum that might be of some help. I think you may have to begin by constructing arcs with the correct number of segments, then proceed from there.

Hi Kelvin,
this would be the first step. Build the first individual element of the truss structure. Then you group them and copy them. Then you make a group from the copies. Then you can use "Shape bender" to create the arc shape. Then you can use the pipe plugin (as shown below). Is perhaps not so easy, but practice makes perfect.

Hey Kelvin, I did this in about 10 min. If I get a chance at lunch I will recreate in a video. Plugins I used were Joint Push Pull for a volume, Sphere for the nodes and Lines2Tubes, same as Charly.

Well done Eric! I'm interested in your technique as well. I'm still learning from you professionals.

Here you go Kelvin.
Edit: Updated video, cleaner and shorter.

thank you for the nice tutorial Eric.
it takes quite long time to load though.
might revisiting at night when net traffic are lower with this slow connection. -
WOW master at work Bravo

@Boofredlay: That is an amazing sequence of operations. I keep coming back to review. Good work.
-
Thank you Tim, that means a lot to me.
-
wow boofredlay, thats amazing, so much to learn from that short video!
-
thanks, eric. this is brilliant!!! you have quite a knowledge of basic geometry. you make quite a complex construction look simple. congratulations.
I only wish I could understand the future use of all those geometry classes when I was at school...

Ditto!
Regret saying "I'll never have any use of this what so ever!" ...
-
Thanks again guys.
-
Eric, what I learned from the video was not so much the geometry, but the value of stopping and thinking about your workflow before starting. That was very useful.
-
Impressive modelling under 6 minutes in the tutorial. I had a couple of d'oh's watching.

thanks boofredlay so much and everyone

By the way hanthu, HERE is a wonderful, and quite remarkable series of videos exploring the 4th dimension and related dimensional tensors.
Not sure if they still offer the 720P versions for download anymore, but they are still beautiful to watch.
