    hello,

i am getting very frustrated right now, especially when the old ASGVis site is down, ChaosGroup hasn't restored all of the forums yet and my deadline is approaching.

since i am unable to find any helpful tutorials on the internet (3dsmax's are useless, and the official ones are down at the moment), i would very kindly like to ask you for help.

i have finished the modelling part, and set up individual scenes. now what i would like to do is what basically SketchUp does defaultly through File -> Export -> Animation and the output is a series of images.

the only difference is that i would like to do it through VRay.

the setting in the Save File dialog allows me only to specify only one file name - which is useless, since this renders all frames into one and single image. not ticking the Save File option causes all of the frames get lost in the cleared frame buffer, which, too, is utterly useless.

if anyone had the time and the will to explain to me, what needs to be set up, i would be infinitely thankful.

    I'm using SketchUp 2017, V-Ray 3.4

I think you are looking for this: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=322&t=25028&p=216267&hilit=+batch+render+vray#p223947

There is a checkbox in the save image area that appends sequential numbers. If you have everything else set up correctly (which is also covered in the above thread), it should render one image per scene and save them with YourFileName0000.png, YourFileName0001.png, ...

      Hope that helps!

There are so many options, it's easy to overlook any particular one. 😄

of course - 'Include Frame Number'

thank you very much, i can't believe i overlooked this option ^^

//so, for my future reference, when i have a model with set scenes and i want VRay to automatically make 1 render of each scene (ie. at architectural visualisation), i have to set up SketchUp (Object info -> Animation -> enable scene transitions (1 sec), scene delay = 0) and VRay (save file ON, filetype image, Animation ON, Include frame number, FPS 1)

          I'm using SketchUp 2017, V-Ray 3.4

I'm trying to render individual frames with vray for an animation.

I've ticked what needs to be ticked... save file, include frame number, fps, etc.
vray renders each of the images but refuses to save each of the images rendered in the specified folder, not even the first image.

            any suggestions?

            I'm using vray 1.48.96

The old forums are migrated, but are not visible if your account hasn't been properly registered on the chaos group site. Contact our support department if you are not able to see all of the old forums in the new chaos group website.

Are you able to render without the animation option? It may be something is preventing a render (memory issues, materials, etc.) which may not necessarily be an issue with animation...

Yes, I am able to render without the animation option.
Though I have the same problem in a single render that I cannot autosave the output. I can only save it by clicking on the save icon.

I encountered this problem too. I can't find any solution.

You could try updating to the newest version (1.49.01). It might have been a bug corrected in that version.

Thanks for the tip. I guess it worked. tested out the autosave option in the output and animation and its working.
                        Thanks again. =D
