[Plugin] [$] Artisan (1.2.3) - Feb 28, 2014
-
Hi there
I've tried this plugin and I think SU have a real problem with quad topology.
Not so impressive comparing with the job I can do in Blender with subdivision surface modifier.
BTW, Whaat did a really great job with this plugin.
Cheers

SU doesn't deal with quads - only triangles. Where other application might allow you to make non-planar quad-faces, SU will not and instead triangulate. (Autofold)

Just bought my piece of history!!! It's 6.30am in Australia and I'm in the office to catch up on work.... apparently.
Well done Dale; a mammoth effort. Also to Pete, Eric and others who have beta tested like crazy to get it out to us all!!
There needs to be a bigger for today!!!

OK, Artisan is live at:
http://www.artisan4sketchup.comI made some last minute adjustments to the Paypal transaction handling code. Everything should work fine but please let me know if you experience any problems with purchasing so I can deal with it ASAP before I go to bed. I will only be up for another 30 minutes or so. (I hope someone will purchase a license in that time.... )

Great addition to the previous SDS. Nice work, and thank you for the 'update' pricing.

It's a pretty simple fact that leads this plugin a level down.
"Dommage" !
cheers

this plugin is so great but im having difficulties learning how to use it..
i hope someone will post some tutorials soon. -
Great piece of work, thank you! However, while I can crease whole faces I can't un-crease whole faces. I have to do it one edge at a time. Any thoughts?

i hope someone will post some tutorials soon.Yes, I regret that I did not have time to create tutorials before the release date. I hope to have some available within a week. Please check the website often. I plan to have a tutorial for each feature of the plugin.

I wonder if its a "good" or "bad" idea for some of the more experienced users to post proxies on this forum, or the warehouse in order for some of the less experienced users to try them out, learn, and perhaps then post their own.

Dale,
I'm so excited to use it, I can hardly wait. I have one question for you. I just purchased one upgrade license for myself and then in a separate transaction purchased another for another computer in the office. The email with the registration key came and it has the same key as the first upgrade key I purchased. Is this normal?

To understand proxy creation it's best to start with what happens to simple geometry. Then add geometry to see how this influences the result...
This was an example that Elisei used in the Beta testing and i think it explains with such elegance the beauty of proxies.

Thank you,REGIS and Rich O'Brien, Great start for new users.

I've tried on simple and complex models. Could it be because I'm using 7.1? I'll also try a complete restart also. Either way I'm happy to have the upgrade

JamesHi James,
I apologize that the license agreement that was included with the software was not very clear on this subject. I have revised the EULA and now included it on the website:
http://artisan4sketchup.com/uncategorized/end-user-license-agreement/
I hope this clears up any misunderstandings.
Thanks!

Do you get any error messages in the Ruby Console when you try to uncrease?

@Whaat: Thank you for posting the updated EULA. I was just about to look it up, as I had the same question as jchau2007, and I did not want to do anything inadvertently illegal. Congratulations on your release from production jail.
Also, thank you for definitively stating that you expect users to try before they buy.
Best wishes,
mitcorb
