[Talk] Plugins Index
-
hello ...
Im knowingly going to post this expecting some hostle response ...
Would it be possible to have a link at the end of the plugin index to "Download All" in a zip file ?
-
No hostile response at all.
However to archive all into one ZIP file and also to maintain that archive with the latest releases would need someone to do that every day (I know no way of automating it).
Also, by this time I don't even know how big that archive would be (could definitely not be attached here). Maybe it would be a kind of "luxury" (for the bandwidth) to allow the whole archive even though it is obvious that no-one would ever need allthe plugins listed above
-
True that the files would be large ...
How about grouping the plugins into categories ...
-
Chris,
Can i ask what is it you find is the issue with this index or plugins at SCF in general? I'm on a fact finding mission here not a witch hunt to see if we can improve it. So your comments are valued.

Added Adam's Goldilock 2.0 (was missing as it did not have the [Plugin] tag in the subject - added that, too)

The list isn't manually maintained. It is generated from the Title of each post, which must use the [Plugin] notation in order to be included. Categories could be implemented, but then each title (or post) would need to be edited to include some type of category information in a consistent format.

Is it possible that we connect this plugins index to Ruby Library Depot and Smustard..so SCF members get notifications here only??

thanks Jimmy

These should be index alphabetical order! You will see the authors name when you get there. It's harder to find them this way.
I'm sure a poll would agree maybe? -
They arein alphabetical order (listed under the authors' names which are again in alphabetical order).
The "recent" ones are in date/time order.
-
Thanks Gaeius, I'm going Blind. there is a list in alphabetical order...

Anyway, thanks & keep up the great workPS: Slicer v3.1 is available at http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=16697#p16697
I am working on a slicer/slotter update... but am bogged down by other things at the moment... -
Thanks TIG, that's the version i have, & sadly on SU 7.1 it refuses to create the flattened on groundplane sections... & in SU8 it sometimes doesnt work either, but that is on very complex models !
I wonder if you know anything about why some plugins work & others not in a vista environment (french language)? Vista seems to create duplicates, but not of all plugins, in a virtual store "C:\Users"xx"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7" very odd, dunno if that has any influence of ruby scripts, anyway some days I feel like going back to XP where pretty much everything works fine...Thanks for all your hard work & good luck

Vista can be really flaky if you don't have 'full' access rights to the ../Plugins folder and its sub-folders - as an admin you could try to reset them under Preferences > Security... Otherwise you think they are installed and they are really in some 'Compatibility Files' folder !
-
TIG, thanks, yes I have checked on that... I had already attributed full rights as I'd seen similar comments, but have redone it to be sure Strangely, I have never seen this compatibility folder, but heh, windows vista is such a soup, who knows...
I'll see if everything is better now & let you know
