Time traveler spotted?

I'll admit it is rather weird.
But why would a time traveler have anything remotely similar to a mobile phone for communicating?
We're certainly not very close to a workable time machine now...so by the time we'll have, if ever, communication devices could be fully integrated into the body or in clothes especially for time traveling. Why risk contaminating the past?
And even if someone from today would plan a mission to the past, there are plenty of technologies which are small enough to be hidden in clothing...I think it is much more likely that she is holding a bakelite ear piece, like the one below, and talking or shouting to some one off camera.

If we had seen this 30, 20 years ago our first though wouldn't have been mobile phones.

Also, if you watch the last frames, it looks to me like the fingers move in a manner consistent with an empty hand.

it's not a phone... it's a micro recorder and she's taking notes on what she sees... and I believe it's not a she, but a he... those hands are huge. he's in drag under cover time traveler.
no really it's a radio and she's wealthy and she talks to herself like a lot of old ladies do...

Its not a phone, its not even covering 'her' ear, see the screenshot below taken from 8:17 in the video above.
Also, who holds their phone like that? Even when he is mimicking her in the video, it looks unnatural to grip the phone like its gonna go flying away....most people hold phones with their fingertips.
Explanation? ...maybe a voice recorder? I dunno...
I call publicity stunt...all he wants is ppl to buy his stuff.

I would guess he/she is practicing for a speech and has a device that projects the voice to the ear, so one could amplify their voice without disturbing others around them. It wouldn't be a "cell" phone without "cell" towers and satellites.

I think she was just holding her hand near her face to keep from being recognized by her husband who thought she was at home doing the laundry and preparing his dinner.

I think it was the director on site, directing human traffic and actors, calling the shots live, and hiding his face so the crowd would not recognize the firector. Settled.

If this was really a time traveller - how would he/she be able to use a mobile phone without the necessary mobile phone network in place...?!?
Back then you didn't have mobile network antennas, no satelites or other wireless network systems, that would make it possible to use the mobile phone back then...
I believe - like so many others - it's something different the person is doing or it's hoax...

I think it's Charlie Chaplin himself dressed up in drag as a gag.
He holds his hand up to his face on the camera side to make it more difficult to recognize him.

Of course...it's an agent from Warehouse 11 or 12. Their communicator was crude, wasn't quite what the Farnsworth device evolved to be in Warehouse 13. This device doesn't need cellular service...doesn't everyone know that?

Thanks Rich I got a chuckle out of that comment also...Mike is the Gadget Guy after all...heck Now that I think about it maybe it is Mike himself...Maybe Mike is the time traveler....Mike if you are a time traveler can you travel to the future when I am rich and famous and get me to give you a million dollars and then bring it back to me in the present day..It's my money anyway so what difference does it make when I spend it...I already spend money I don't have why not spend my own money I don't yet have.....hehe Hope you are doing well Mike.
