OMG! fur plugin is AMAZING!
-
but sometimes vine looks strange...
-
hmmmm -
Underwater fur.
-
Oh wow tallbridgeguy. That is a fantastic use for the plug in. Great render!
-
Wow!!! Is it true ? Really amazing...
-
yeah its great, how did you achieve that underwater feeling?
-
Thanks guys!
I essentially built the scene during a work break using a fish from the google warehouse. (xpmouse) Throw the fish in a green bathtub, add some rocks, grass and fur....
I like the fact the image was made with su and kerky. No post pro at all. (I really think the fur plugin is cool.)
A couple more arty versions without any post pro.
-
Wow Hieru, that second image is awesome...
-
First off I'd like to say how amazing this plugin is - thanks for a brilliant resource!!!!!
I haven't tried anything too wacky and I've mostly spent my time trying to think of ways of creating all sorts of plants, trees and shrubs.
Here's my attempt at a 'shaped' bush/hedge:
I'm not completely happy with the realism of the model, but I'll try experimenting with different leaf sizes and mixes. The shape isn't right either (too regular) and makes me think of a Dalek in camouflage -
-
Thanks Fymoro
I was surprised at the results considering that I just downloaded the Dalek from the 3D Warehouse and quickly applied the leaves using the same presets as the bush.
I suppose it just goes show how important your lighting and environment is to a render. I'm new to rendering so I hope that the bush/hedge will look a lot better in a more realistic setting.

yeah that image is sweet!
I used fur plugin today to make some marketing images for a housing association. its supposed to be a postcard for their carbon neutral "Code 6" homes.
I scattered one of Solo's ivy leaves to the gabion wall and the front of the house. I then intersected some 3D text with the road and then grew some grass!
Good bit of fun, but I had to place everything on hidden layers. 95MB file size lol. yes its tacky but this is what they wanted!
-
This is a fine render, fish is modeled in another app though. And fish is that makes the deference...
oops you updated your post, so, these last too are great renders, amazing

Had a quick play. Used the fur plugin to distribute a plane with a transparent grass image I made. Worked fairly well. Image attached if anyone else wants to have a go.
Let me just make one request:
Like Solo and EarthMover, could you share Their techniques and components (maps, textures) of grass._______________________________

I thought I'd post another marketing image I made using the fur plugin. I applied Solo's English Ivy across the gabion wall and a creeper to the porch....then applied satin plastic template in twilight....100 shininess. The scattering would have taken hours without this amazing plugin!

Thats a great ivy rendering. These 2d trees now look... like 2d. lol
BTW ivy in ancient greek means 'where genitals exist'. I'm wondering if there's a connection . Leaves in front of... you know. I'm not talking about your render of course.
This couple on the right is out of scale somehow. -
That's a weird world where no one looks where they are walking....

Well said Chris Fullmer.

Nah, it's such a happy and well ordered world no one needs to look where they're going.
-
Michalis you are right about the trees. I'm gonna buy tom's trees...and also make a collection of 2d/3d png trees, i'll see how it goes.
I think the couple kinda look like out of scale due to the change in levels, maybe an illusion?!!

They are not looking because they are in awe of the fantastic architecture! haha
Maybe this will clear things up?
