[Plugin] Extended Views v1.2 UPDATE May 23, 2013
-
Thank you John.
-
What a great plugin! Once installed, I mapped my arrow keys to it, and now I can see the basic mechanical views of my cabinets. Obviously this should have been the default in SU originally. THANKS!!
How do I send a donation? Really.

Any word on an update for SU2017? This was probably the extension that I most often forgot wasn't just an integral part of SketchUp, and I'm missing the functionality a lot.
-
any chance for update to 2017?
-
One of the best plugins and simplest, I use nowadays in SketchUp. In particularly with Vray. Keep up the good work Chris Fullmer! But any words about the upcoming update for 2017 version?
-
Are you OK Chris Fullmer? Is there anyone that can fix extender views for SU2018 or a code to copy and paste to make ir work?
-
Hy .. Dzieńdobry
I'm just starting with sketchup API and I have choosen CLF Extended Views as a sample lo see how extention should be made..
Soon enough I realised that it doesn't work in sketchup 2017..
I found out it was due to change made in sketchup 2017 when exploding groups..I started to learn ruby last month but with lots of digging in sketchup's API documentation I managed to fix it.. (So proud )
Here is the .rbz file (just zipped it and changed the extention to .rbz)
This should workI wanted to send that file directly to Chris so he could maintain it in extention warehouse but couldn't find his email.. Hope You don't mind.. It was a greate excercise to me..

. . . But it works with user defined axes. Currently if you change the axis of your model, and then change to one of the standard views, it will not align to your set axis. This plugin fixes that and it aligns the camera to the user defined axis.
Although it includes a Bottom View icon and performs a "Zoom Extents", it doesn't pivot the view according to the CURRENT axis, however.
I tested this new version using SU2018. -
I use 2016 and 2017.. I don't have possibility to check how it works in 2018..

Kindly update your profile, which reads that you're still on v8.

Hi guys, I just installed this plugin for SU 2020 but when I click any of the Extended Views toolbars, all it seems to do is insert 4 guide points in a box shape. I tried changing my axis but no difference. How do you get it to work?

Greetings,
Indeed it would be awesome if this splendid tool could be compatible with SU 2020.
Any chance to get the uodate? Many thanks in advance.

Unfortunately this tool has failed since mid-v2018 !
It is pretty old !
SketchUp changed the way that references to exploded items are handled.
So the cpoints in the temporary group are now deleted and recreated, rather than retained.
Thus the error, when they are no longer found...Because the in the header is 'All rights reserved' it can't be changed by others and distributed...
I suggest you contact Chris Fullmer direct to see if he's prepared to correct it.
The method would be to attach a specific custom-attribute to each of the cpoints, then when the temporary group is exploded the recreated cpoints get the same attributes, so then in the exploded results the new cpoints can be recollected 'by attribute' in the same order, so they can be reused [before finally erasing them...]

@pipinek and freeagent:
Hi,
Take a look at this: https://sketchucation.com/plugin/1284-dbur_ucsmanager_v1_0_0
Basically it's an 'axes manager' but besides that the 6 views can be changed absolute to the main axes or relatively to your custom set of axes.
Regards, -
@Chris-Fullmer Hi Chris this plugin only works with old versions or even with the latest ones. I have it on 2024 and it doesn't work
