If you register, you will probably contacted by Karin, who will ask you if you like the plugin. You can ask her more about it.

This topic thread is about a specific modeling application named FreeCAD, ... not about all free CAD applications in general. I am sure there are other threads for that (as I have posted in them.)

Today it works fine for me... Although I already have the Creative Suite CS5, so I won't down-grade anyway... But nice find... I'm sure many will start using PhotoShop now...

Thanks Tig and Fiona, As I suspected the free stuff is pretty scratchy, if it works at all... but I did find Able2Extract http://www.investintech.com/downloads.htm Does a good job, converts to DWG as well as DXF, and its possible to set units, line width and scale. For a $100 it seems reasonable value Edit:....And thanks Rich and All for the links below

thanks, that's VERY interesting. Just as I was getting the new X11 version figured out. I had a major D'oh moment setting 2.8 X11 up realizing something I could have been doing for years I won't even say what that is. I'll just say, take a good look at preferences first off. Now this wonderful news!

@unknownuser said: should i drop the 'you should see how this works on osx' bomb ? or should i just keep my mouth shut? Well, this is one of those no-brainers that should "just work" IMO. Ideally, when I select ay plain text file, it should be shown in the preview pane, plus there should be a toggle button to enter/exit "edit" mode in the preview pane. This is how I would spec it if that were my job.

I don't know what I've done wrong but I've took some pics of a chair in different angles but the software wasn't able to create the model.

@irwanwr said: PDF-XChange Viewer might be interesting for those who want more features from a lightweight PDF reader. no 3D feature yet. That one has pretty great markup, annotation features.

There's a referral system that has a series of goals that unlock more goals and gifts. I think you eventually end up with what they claim if you meet the criteria

Great stuff. Can someone explain how to get a painted model out of sculptris into Sketchup? The obj exporter seems to lose the color layers? thanks! s
