The desert is a beautiful place. For 15 minutes after sunrise and 15 minutes before sunset. We are also trying to figure out global warming. At 117F in the summer a few more degress are just as unbearable as a few less degrees. I am from Pennsylvania which is about the greenest spot in the nation. Growing up there I never thought about the smell of trees. When my dad died I went back and as I got off the planes, I didn't know what I was smelling until I realized it was the plants and the trees.

As a quick aside, I can't remember exacttly where the photo was taken, but im reasonably sure its in Devon (uk) and however wet and lonely it might look, it wsnt really that bad, I just didnt have a proper coat (won't make that mistake again.)

@unknownuser said: It appears the limit of the width pics on this site is 800, but for some reason it doesn't show the full 800 pixels yes, that's true. 800 pixels would stretch the div the post is in and the stylesheet of this forum software rather crops the image. About 706 pixel wide images can be displayed properly. We only do not change the limit to 706 for the time being because that was the limit on the old board, too, and during the transfer it would be a PITA to keep resizing all the images in order to be able to post them here. After the transfer we'll set the limit properly. Back to the topic; really cool renders and technique with the added SU lines!

Methinks the lady protesteth too much. When you post work that good, you undercut your own argument against SU as an organic tool.

The thread is going on - with the implementation of the project in the "QUEBEC WINTER CARNAVAL - ICE PALACE" topic. (Just took this a bit into the front of the transfer to make the link available).

Thanks Craig, The reason I did that was because you posted that thread, I was inspired by the submissions, so took a deserved break from SU work and had some SU fun.

@unknownuser said: Robert these are great. The first thing that struck me however is that your images are from different perspectives but the mountain background is the same. ehhmm. correct. It was the only background the owner gave me to work with. Since its off season for similar shots, I had to settle for the same background. Good Catch, and thanks for the input.

I created the brick texture in CS3. Began with a standard brick texture, desaturated, and played with levels to get the desired effect. Thanks Again

Im just not exactly happy with the way that came out. And to top it off it took 5 hours to render on my 6-7 year old computer lol. I dont think ill be attempting that one again. The bronze doesnt look right and i made the eyes too low poly. Plus i forgot to put a black "felt" pad on the underside of the bronze piece that rests on the glass.

LOL - NOW I got what he was meaning... and all my work getting the tree being watered was just for nothing... Don't worry, the detail work on the house will comprise a BIG eaves gutter!

Remus, just push the window in and create reveals so the frame is sat further back, it will look much more like a window then and should help with the light/shadow on that wall.
