An interesting article Bep. I see that a Louis Brennen from Castlebar, Co. Mayo (80 up the road from me) was involved in the production of the The Schilovski Gyrocar. Brennan also produced a Gyro train. See here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Brennan

Damn I just spent a ton of cash on upgrades on my current PC. An Amiga would have been a throw back to my late teens. I loved my late teens. Damn Damn Damn!!!

thanks Mac1, it certainly is good practice to take a disk image of a working system - something I used to do, but complacency has stepped in over the last year or 2. One utility I've read about recently is "sandboxie" which I think may really suit my situation where I'm often trying out all sorts of software/downloads, etc. Cheers - Mick

@arcad-uk said: Interesting looking product which apparently owes a lot to SU. Shame they didn't learn from SU's marketing. I'm always suspicious of a company offering a product that doesn't publish it's prices, this usually results in regional rip offs and I won't touch software on a time limited licence which stops working at the end of the licence period; been there done that and lost a lot of valuable data because of it. As a consequence I won't even bother with the demo. Agreed. The first thing I do when I hear about a new software that might be useful to me is to go to the sales page to find out what it's price point is. If I'm expected to contact a reseller for a 'quote' I back out of the site and don't return. Too shady for me.

Ouch! That's near to twice the price of a Mac mini for a slightly faster machine with no OS X. Not my taste, but if it floats your boat feel free. I do advise careful use of the a word. It tends to call down parachuting fanatics in much the same way as aul Rand.

Autodesk Sketchbook Pro is purely for 2D sketching and painting. Autodesk Sketchbook Designer is the more complex application where you can make massive edits to everything. Autodesk Alias combines 2D drawing and 3D modeling.

@unknownuser said: Thanks for the replies. Can't try different ports, they are different connections (unless I am mistaken). Will take a photo when I get a chance. I would not discount it overheating either, a month after I got this machine I had to return it for a new cooling system as it died on me. I will give it a good dusting out again, although I did that about 4 weeks ago. Are you using a DVI and a VGA port? Many DVI monitors come with a VGA adapter or cable, check your box of computer junk.

I've only tried one of the above solutions (with no success) but whilst looking at my options I thought that I could subscribe to CS5.5 whilst waiting for CS6. However I stumbled upon a slight problem that more people should be aware of. In the past Adobe offered good discounts when upgrading from the previous 3 versions. When CS6 is released these discounts will only apply to people who have CS5

The cool thing of the Sketchup version is that you can also export for IPAD About the 3D PDF itself that works very fine but don't use very heavy file!

Only for the totally committed. Interesting design. Reminds me of a design I did in school back in the 70s. Back in the days when Fortran was the emergent "software" on a machine that required a small building to house it. My design was a pod with TV screen and audio headphones. Basically, like a study carrel you could take a nap in.
